Your welcome to build a gearbox that can shoot that hot, but It would not be "field-able".

I havent gotten close to the magic 740. Best I've been able to come up with is a ~410 FPS gun shooting .43 BB. or about ~650FPS w 0.20. Those things are impossible to close the shell on. I had to get another guy to hold the cylinder down and table vice the gearbox in place. I used a long screw driver and had to push with basically my entire body weight to get the spring into the box. Without a second person I wouldn't be able to close the box. Parts list:
Prometheus Cylinder, Prometheus Cylinder Head Prometheus Nozzle Prometheus Tappet Plate Prometheus Triple torque gears Prometheus Aluminum piston head System supercore piston Airsoft Surgeon stage 6 spring G&P Gearbox shell 8mm Kanzen 8mm ceramic bearings G&P hopup unit TM barrel Systema spring guide Prometheus Cut off lever G&P Switch AJAX STS Systema Magnum motor 11.1 Flightpower pack 4200 mah 40c continuous. Hopup teflon mod Cylinder head mod. In the future i might try this again but with a stock TM gearbox shell and a bore up kit. Still looking for a not damaged TM gearbox shell to use. |

Use a V3 or a V6!
I hope you're not trying that with a V2. Oh wait I just read you are... |

Acuracy and range would be non-existant. No hopup will cope with that. And no hopup mean no range. It would be basically a really expensive BB gun that is worth shit for acuracy.

There was something like a tbl or something, where you tilt the barrel upwards or something, so the bb "rolls" off the top of the barrel to give it hop. It's supposed to be really hard though.

I wish Tanio Koba would make some barrels with a lighter twist for guns with higher FPS. |

Oh BTW AJAX STS does work VERY well with the V2. I didnt game or shot much beyond a couple thousand rounds with this but there was no damage to the gearbox shell. I just got a cracked V2 from thenooblord and I will do the same experiment with a cracked V2 and STS. I should amend my parts list add Prometheus Hard rubber & Nub CNC metal strike arm. I thought dude used 3 melded 150 springs I've seen paintball markers with barrels that are not straight but are tilted upwards kinda like hopup. is that what you are talking about?

I think so.. The tippman flatline was well known to have a "hopup" effect.
I found the site I saw it on. It's called a LRB (long range barrel) http://www.airsoftretreat.com/forums...?topic=86290.0 Defined by wikipedia The LRB turns the entire barrel into a hop-up system, giving a consistent spin on the BB. The rate of fire on these can be regulated by the amount of air being fed through the system, versus the motor strength of an AEG. |
