I'm sure the guys at Echo 1 did the math/engineering calculations. Really anyone with the right software could... No sense selling something that is guaranteed to fail and then get ripped apart on a consumer thread such as this one.

Well in the past BA's with a plastic piston and a VSR trigger set-up often ended up slam firing.

This gun has both of those items, logic says it will slam fire.

My question is why not just put a metal piston in the gun, when you as the maker of the gun know the history of the VSR clones? Could it be as simple as "why bother when the target buyers will just replace it anyways"?

Hopefully not the VSR 10, considering the slam fire issue can only be remedied with a zero trigger set up, which is no longer manufactured. But if it is CA M24 compatible, you might see these flying off the shelf.

Yes they do but they also have the companies add better parts (or in some cases cheaper parts to bring cost down)to the rebrands then put there name on it.

so yes echo 1 does rebrand but you get better quality then say the JG or CYMA original. Just like how TSD rebrands the SRC guns but with cheaper parts to keep price lower.

I hope that someone who has delt with alot of BA's in the past gets there hands on this to give us some insite on the quality of the stock internals.

Oooo, oooo, OOOO.....great to know bro. Not really for me (VSRs have that unnaturally plastic feeling to them), but I know sooooo many peeps who are trying to solve this issue.

I still love my APS2 EX, and I'll probably be buried with the damn thing.

I have got to do a preliminary check of said rifle. Right off the bat, the stock doesn't feel near as nice as I remember the CA stocks feeling. There is also a visible seam down the middle of it. The magazines are a proprietary design, and don't fit APS, VSR, or Type 96 magazines. The bolt is slick and easy to pull back, even when not lubed. And the trigger is very light with a nice crisp let off.

I am supposed to do a review of it over the next two weeks if there is time. I will keep you all posted.

For anyone that cares, I had time today to do some more testing with the rifle. At approximately 30 feet using Green Devil .2g BBs (25 BBs), I managed to shoot a 4" grouping with a Bushnell Buckmaster 3-9x30 scope that was not sighted in. This was done using a box as a rest, no bipod, and keeping the exact same point of aim with the hop up at half.

The chronograph results averaged approximately 460 fps. With the highest shot being 473 and the lowest being 446 fps (no hop up and 15 rounds fired).

The only major downside I found was that using the supplied magazine, I had to hold the magazine into the gun for it to feed reliably. There was also a very noticeble twang of the barrel after every shot during the accuracy shoot.

The hop up is adjusted the same as the TM VSR, and I will confirm or deny the fact that it may or may not be a VSR hop up unit tomorrow or Friday if I can find the time to strip the gun down.

seems a bit extreme having nearly 30fps difference. if you have time, can you drop in a spring that is known to be consistent?

For those interested I emailed Echo 1 who confirmed that at least the piston and sear assemblies are VSR compatible.
