there is lots of "gear" out there that is costume.. and not effective. most repligear ( clone ) looks right , but does not use the right materials or cut to actually fit a human body. it sounds to me however that you are committing the #1 error.. running a plate carrier without plates.

As you can see, I'm a skinny little shit. I have modified the crap out of this thing to fit me like a glove. The shoulder straps used to be more on the sides, but I tucked them into where the plate goes and sewed them into place. That way I the vest wouldn't fold outward when I put my arms together. The molly is woven properly with the pouch. There are clips I could attach to a waist belt. But if I were to turn my torso, the vest would stay stationary and limit my flexibility. You guys are awesome by the way, any other suggestions?

The way those pouches are sagging tell me they can be tighter. Take them off, then make sure when you weave and attach them, all available length is used. Your problem is as you can see in the picture, your pouches are jumping around because they aren't up as far as they can be.

Well you have belt loops you can make use of these.
But I too find the way they are held really weird, if you say they're tight already it's even weirder. Only other options : tighten the vest or had weight on the rear. The PC I use for live fire drills has plates in it, that's what keeps everything in place even though I can carry more than 10 7.62x51 mags on it plus the extra gear. Last option : buy a propper PC, the way it looks on your pictures it doesn't seem to be a very good fit. |

Ah! I have those AK/triple AR pouches. I don't use them for mags any more and mount them on the side of my blast belt as utility pouches. Anyway, it's the pouch itself that is moving on you. There's just too much space inside with just two which allows them to bounce around when you move. What's it like if you triple stack your gbbr mags? Still too much slack and bouncing? If it's the rig moving, maybe throw a dummy sapi plate in there.
When I did use them for mags, I made sure to put 3 in there and when there's a lull in the fire fight, transfer empty mags back up from the dump pouch. If they are the condor or similar maybe you can cut a piece of medium density foam and slide it in the little inside pocket in the front. |

Spring for shingles and stack them 2 or 3 deep as needed...or good old (quality) double M4 pouches...HSGI, Blackhawk, Eagle, etc... The backer of those pouches are nice and solid and tend to have some bungee/elastic to snug up the mag(s) when they're in the pouch.
Best of luck Last edited by m102404; April 13th, 2011 at 18:10.. |

I resolved the same issue by going to wally mart and grabbing some garden working foam pads, they're the same thickness of fake SAPI plates. I cut them to size and saved 30 dollars plus added some stability to my CIRAS.
BTW nice optics Last edited by The Chad; April 13th, 2011 at 18:48.. |

Those pouches look pretty saggy, not the molle, the pouches themselves. The shingles the other guys are suggesting are a pretty good idea.
You can also try balancing out your rig with a back panel or water bladder on the back, or even ditching the whole rig and going for a different setup like a vest.

If I look at the top of your pouches, I see extra webbing, the pouches are obviously not tight enough. If you cant get them any tighter, no wonder they flop around, they are no good... On top of what else has been said. Get proper molle pouches, shingles, ect to help snug things up.

Eh, he can stick with that if budget is limited... Its just a molle panel rig, getting pouches that will attach to molle both properly, and securely, will go a long way to being more comfortable.
