Snipers are NOT easy roles. You want easy roles, go get an LMG.

I never minded having my two-four on my back, but often I'd have what you listed, plus my MP5 and a pile of mags for it, maybe a second sidearm.

I'm very surprised that the CA m24 weighs that much. Whats a TSD vsr like 4lbs? Goes to show the difference in build.

Wow did that ever go off topic. My fault to. I find it much easier crawling and climbing with a heavy load rather than sprinting is all I meant and no snipers do not have it easy, rather its more difficlut, but in my oppinion much more satisfying!
So back to to sniper school.....where, when, how much, what about level 1? You only mentioned level 2.

All are welcome to use a lvl1 bolt action rifle 450fps w.20'S once u take a lvl2 course your alloud 500 if the field and host allow lvl3 is 550, there are MED's (minimum engagement distances) to adhear to for safe operation at theese higher velocities and the couse allows us to prove to the community through a respected member that we can recognize theese distances and no when to not take a shot due to safty

the CA M24 is like 3.8kg, plus bipod, cheek pouch, scope, sling etc etc etc. Im ballparking it around 5kg.

Not all of us are skinny and in shape anymore like you stalker lol. The last 3 years behind a desk have not been good for me lol.

i'm in for atleast the lv1 training. I use a svd andi'm thinking about a ca24. So if it happens (training) I'm down for sure

I have an RS SVD a CA M24, a G&G G96 and a new Javelin M24 that is real junk. They are all shooting in the mid 400s with .2 so I'm good for now. However once something is up for Level 2 I will take it any way. Any training is good training gauging range, aiming for distance etc is right up my alley!

Reason for the CA M24's impressive weight (and what also makes it very quiet to shoot, all sound and vibration is kept within the gun)is in the rifle itself, it has a SOLID composite stock (unsure the material) and the receiver/outer barrel is solid cast metal, minimum 1/8" thick, in places. Add on a decent sized scope, maybe a bipod............. mine is about 14lbs, and at one point I had my stock w/bipod in one hand and the barrel w/scope in the other, they balanced out pretty good. Always found it funny other complete rifles weighed as much as my stock alone.

Indeed, for my VSR10s I filled the hollow stock with spray-on insulation foam (cheap and can get at any hardware store) which effectively silenced the sound and added a couple ounces to the general weight.

What a great Idea, adding the foam in the stock. I will have to do that to the Javelin once I'm done with the upgrades on it. Out of the 3 or 4 sniper weapons I have the SVD is the one that surprised me the most. Right out of the box it was bang on accurate.

even if someone is a lvl 2/3 can the person in charge of the field still say that a hot weapon is not aloud? if so what would the point of geting certified be not trying to shoot you down im actually some what interested in doing this just trying to get some more info about it

Yes. Regardless of what level people are, the field owner and or host have the right to limit the max allowable fps. So for a level 2 to be certified for 500 fps, there will be times where they cannot exceed 450 or even 400 fps. A lot of fields also dictate this as there's not enough space to physically run higher fps guns. Also, some host will ask the attendees if there are any veto's.

I know I'll get 88 flak guns for this, but take my advice: Go hunting and spend a lot of time stalking wild animals or a friend (in the wilderness). Experience tells me that this is one of the best ways to learn how to be the "hunter".

If your friend or the animal notices you, then you have failed. Start over from the place you began. Also, pay very close attention to all of your surroundings. Memorize and create a mental picture in your mind. If there have been any changes, take note and inspect them from afar.

Just some of my ten cents there.
