In my experience, the KWA NS2 system is actually slightly less desirable in the cold than the older system. It uses less gas to fire the round, so I've had issues where:
A) I limp-wristed it and the slide didn't even come all the way back and it vented gas.
B) It was quite cold (5-10C?) and after about a half mag the slide stopped coming back all the way, and it vented gas.
However, I was firing my older model KWA P226 in the cold just the other day (around 0C) and it was going through the whole mag no trouble. It did however use significantly more gas. It was spraying every shot and i only got about 1 mag of bb's per gas-up.
