Anyone can own an airsoft ....however....not everyone can have a RPAL......blame it on irresponsible kids that flash their airsoft around....you will never see an adult walking around with their AR and saying look people my new Colt LE6940 ...

You'd think that, but you'd be wrong. It's happened. We've had members of this forum show up in public places with their airsoft guns out in the open.

How much sand CAN you fit in your vagina!?

Tokyo Marui still makes some of the best pistols on the market. Unfortunately a stock TM gun shoots around 300 FPS, no fail.

Don't forget an important point. Once the velocity exceeds 500fps AND the muzzle energy is in excess if a certain amount, it is classified as a firearm that falls under the firearm act. This means at this point, there are laws about how you can transport, store, and use. Also, a short barrel length and being full auto would prohibit it.
That being said, I don't know if the muzzle energy can reach that high with a plastic BB. |

About 60% of Canadians are ineligible for a PAL of any flavour.
Even worse if you live in Quebec with Law 9 and their home location requirements.

And I agree, Canada's legislation is quite 'messed up', so to speak. I even spoke to a CBSA agent when I went to America last Winter Break, and he told me all the stuff you guys did, gave me a sheet, stamped it, and told me I could bring a couple in if they shot over 407 FPS. If I got stopped, he told me to call him. I thought I was in a dream, but the Airsoft store I went to didn't have competitive prices at all. In fact, they cost even more than in Canada. The point here is that even the CBSA agent was willing to let me exploit the loophole, and it's really confusing as to why. When my friend got into Airsoft, he asked me all about the legislation and all that, and when I explained it to him and showed him the actual documents, all he could say was, "What in the actual F*ck?!" There are just so many gray areas in the law regarding our sport. It makes life difficult.

60% statistical BS
The 60% is statistical BS, you need only be over a given age and able to pass a test. Assuming you are not under a lifetime or other firearms prohibition.
There are a few other issues such as anger issues, pissed off ex that can screw things up. But the bottom line is about 10% of those who are eligible apply will not get a PAL. |

I know this thread is about a month old, but what exactly do the new laws say? I mean if I personally order a gun from over seas that shoots over 366 fps, does that mean that it will get to me? Or will the CBSA just hold/destroy my gun if they feel like it? I'm sure this has already been asked by someone, but I have searched forums for hours finding no answer, or even mention of this law.

It will either get seized, and you will receive a letter of seizure, or it will be taken for testing by the RCMP, which will take anywhere from 3 months to over a year.
