My AEG suddenly stopped working???

get some wire and just wire the battery directly to the motor... see if it spins up

After re-installing everything inside the gearbox, i plugged my battery and motor, i pulled the trigger and the motor did it's thing. I assembled my aeg, when I pulled the trigger, motor spinned, gears turned, spring cocked back, half gear released piston, trigger contacts popped out. Rinse and repeat, so I'll start at plugged the battery and motor, shoved it into the gearbox, pulled the trigger... Selected full auto, pulled the trigger, everything was working as it should. I re-assemble my aeg, pull the trigger on semi... Back at the start. The only thing that I can see possible is the trigger contact keeps popping out, maybe due to wear and tear. But I also think it might be the part that's harnessing the trigger contact, because even when I'm re-installing everything in the gearbox, the trigger itself pops out. The trigger contact slides back where I need to use a small screw driver to place back into position, install the trigger, and then have to hold everything down until I install the gearbox cover. The thing I don't understand is why does it only pop out when I fully re-assemble the aeg??? Do you guys think a new tappet plate would fix this issue?

It is perfectly fine for your trigger to pop out of your gearbox when you open it up. As long as it is in place when you put it back together and both ends of the trigger post are in the gearbox shell's holes, you're good to go.

The trigger popping out of place as you're closing it up is normal with a lot of mechboxes. PITA...but normal.

If you've reassembled everything and it goes from Safe, not being able to pull the trigger because the bar is blocking it....to Full auto and it's shooting, and you can go back and foth between the two without issue, then the the issue lies with the operation of your cutoff lever (it's the bent bar/lever that sits behind your sector gear). That lever is tripped by the lobe under the sector gear with each rotation (shot).

There's little spring (outside of mechbox and attaches to the selector plate) that keeps the lever reset in the down position, ready for the next bump.

The lobe kicks it up, the nub on the inside edge of the lever bumps the notch on the switch block and flicks it out from between the electrical fins of the switch body. The spring attached to the switch body flicks it back and it stops against the little post behind it, ready to be picked up by the trigger again.

You don't have to fully reassemble the gun when you're troubleshooting. You can simply close up the mechbox, screw on the grip, do the motor. When the selector plate is fully forward you're on safe. Anywhere back from safe to where it's far enough back so that it is not touching the cutoff lever it's on semi...when the selector plate is holding the cutoff lever back (which holds it up out of position inside the mechbox) it's on full auto.

If moving the selector plate back and forth results in the proper fire selection...then the issue lies with the reassembly of the mechbox into the body. Ensure that the selector plate is in semi (i.e. not on safe and not on full...won't stay on full on it's own anyways)...and that the selector on the body is in Semi. That way the lobe that's attached on the inside of the body to the selector will be oriented up...and that it'll slip into its spot on the selector plate nicely (vs. jammed onto it or whatever).

Maybe it's just me, but reading your post is hard and a bit confusing. Adding in a bit of punctuation or separating some of the points helps a lot with deciphering it and providing a response. More detail is always better as well.

What I mean is that the trigger pops out inside the mech box once everything has been assembled and I pull the trigger.
I wrote my previous post about 45 seconds after waking up, I was confused to start with :P

I.e. you put it all together, pull the trigger (shouldn't matter if it's plugged in or not) and it moves out of position (i.e. it's not pivoting on it's axle but rather moving around loose?)?

Or you pull the trigger and it doesn't spring back? Take a closer look at how the trigger spring is installed. The short end hooks to the trigger through a hole just above the trigger blade (may be hole, may be a slot). The coil wraps around the left side of the axle. The long end rests on the inside bottom of the mechbox shell...just under where the wires are soldered. the trigger should held forward by the spring.

A common error is to put the short end of the spring under the trigger vs. though the hole. If you do that it usually won't move far enough to complete the circuit.

Either way...if it's shooting in full but not in semi it's the cutoff lever operation.
