I guess just because almost every AEG I've looked (with a few exceptions, mind you) at I've understood to need some sort of attention.
I feel like an SG would look stupid with optics, but I don't know. Irons/optics seem to be down to personal preference, so I won't know until I try. Still, better to try on a 550 than the StG44 I hope to get :P |

Most actually don't need anything. People just always want to change and upgrade stuff for some reason, sometimes for no reason.

my take on the G&G sig... for the price your paying, you could buy a ics sig and another gun...
Ive read many reviews, and yes, everyone says the G&G is the best, and I believe them too. But after gaming a season with a sig, i would have spent the money on something else. If only they made the 556 with the same folding stock as the 550-552 everything would be cool... I have no problem with the guns, they shoot great, perform great, all that jazz... but these mags Marty!, SOMETHING has to be done about your mags!!! lol... they are big, bulky, and you have your choice between low caps, or high caps.... or mid caps that you have to mod... such a hasstle. And they aint cheap on top of that

If my modded midcaps clicked in as easily as the lowcaps I probably wouldnt have an issue with sigs. I think what you have to ask yourself when buying a g&g sig is, why are you buying it? performance? they are great and all, but at the price tag are they that much better then cheaper options? no... the look? to drop $500 on a gun only for someone to ask you what kind of galil or ak you have is pretty disappointing since you could buy either of those guns at half the price lol

Bump.
I'll be buying one in the next week or two, so another question came to mind: what springs are you using? Just trying to figure out if I'm going to need to downgrade to an m110. Also, are you guys running 9.6s or are 8.4v sticks fine? |

My 550 and 552 are both stock springs. They shoot around 380 stock. I use 9.6v stick as well have a 8.4v stick too.

It came, and oh my balls this thing is beautiful. I don't think I could have bought a nicer gun.

I too am thinking of going down the SG550 road. I was curious about accuracy. I've seen a review or two on the net claiming tremendous accuracy and I wondered if any of the owners can attest to it. I'm assuming a stock weapon out of the box.
I like the idea of putting a 4X optic on it but only if the accuracy is above average or it will be a waste of $. G&G will apparently put a rail on top of the receiver for about $35. Has anyone else tried this option? |

I'm currently building mine up to be a DMR with an Rhop setup
After cleaning up the gearbox to get better consistency out of the thing i've been getting great results as far as accuracy goes. Very fond of this gun! As for the top rail, I'd go for it. The gun is accurate out of the box and could make use of a good scope. |

Thanks for that. Do you think that Rhop is really that much better than other configurations? I think the gun would look awesome with an ACOG on it!
