Was this a gearbox you tested yourself? It passed all of your compression tests?

How is the nozzle wobble in your setup?

Yeah, I'm pretty confident you don't have a pme issue here.

You're still in the rps territory where a sector clip will help. Also what you might need to do is clip off the loop rings of your tappet spring and bend out a new loop out of the next 2-3 rings. If tappet timing is the issue, this should help it.

But a +/- 6 is still pretty awesome.

There might be some truth to the faster cycle speed with a big battery in that AB will not fix it. AB only stops the motor, it won't stop it in the same spot every single time with the nozzle full forward. The nozzle pulling out too soon might be causing a drop in pressure, where a lesser battery doesn't pull it back as fast (giving the bb enough time to leave the barrel) But you're talking less than milliseconds here.

Tappet pre engagement happens just under the 30 RPS mark if you have a sector delay clip. That's why I short stroke a bit from the release side to prevent that.

that's such a weird issue, I've never encountered it on my builds, might be more prominent on longer barrels since most guns I've built for people are in the 363-407mm barrel lengths.

I've experienced it regardless of barrel length. You don't use sector delayers though do you?

That's weird, I consistently ran into that issue so now I just short stroke from the release to prevent it. Its why noobs think suckback is a real thing LOL.

Yes, tested myself. There is no wobble whatsoever in the nozzle. I forgot to mention I'm using a TM nozzle. I've experimented with a Modify nozzle (the one with the o-ring) and I saw a slight drop in fps and identical issues. I'll fiddle around with the tappet plate when I get the chance tonight or tomorrow and post the results.

So I got a chance to take everything apart, I replaced the tappet plate with a stock marui one and I'm getting +/- 2 FPS now. Thanks to everyone who contributed!

Lonex tappet working poorly in a Lonex mechbox and Lonex gears? Sounds like typical Lonex to me.

Glad you got it resolved.
