That thing was an absolute bitch to get setup. The hop up screw is in a very odd location and is amazingly sensitive. A quarter of a turn can make a difference of nearly a foot on the target. Another downside to the rifle (the airsoft version obviously) is its length and recoil combination. The force of the bolt seems to take effect before the BB actually leaves the barrel and creates for an interesting aiming experience. Erik can correct me if I'm wrong but, I think it's just one of those quirks that you need to get used to.

PM Orvis on the EAR forums. He is the one who owns all the cool WW2 guns. He had 1903 out and some german guns too.

Real fun stuff to shoot. Shot his m1 carbine too. That was a real treat too.

There are clips available for the "real steel" M1 Garand that take 5 rounds or 2 rounds. Check out Fulton Armoury for parts if you're looking at getting a Garand

Bottom line is there is an exception for the M1 to fire 8 rounds..

No. Eject's clip after BBs are shot. No casings.

I got mine just last week(first GBB), and found that hop up setting is terrible. None of my shot is anywhere close to target, or maybe it's partly because the bolt blows back before BB leaves barrel. It's still something I have to get used to and do some more adjusting on the hop up.

Anyway, still pretty happy with my Garand, except the wood fore grip is extremely loose. After, dismantling almost half the gun, tighten up most of allen screw, and realize that front outer barrel wasn't screw all the way in. So during reassembling, I have screwed it in all the way, now the front fore grip is tight.

Btw, suggestion to ppl who just receive their Marushin M1 Garand, make sure all the screws are tight. I have found quit a few loose screws on mine, probably due to anti-rust oil they use at factory and vibration during shipping.

I found 5-6 reviews around Russian airsoft boards, looks like everybody had problems with loose screws. They also complain about part Part No. 45 breaking really fast. One person already went through four of those things

At least it's not expensive, only 10 bucks of so.

Maybe next time when I get a chance to take the gun apart, I will rinse those screw and screw holes with brake cleaner, then apply light duty thread locker to them.

won't be suprise the part number 45 breaks often, since it's main part of blow back assembly. Also the metal used is rather soft. feels like they are cast aluminum.

Hmm... cast aluminum, maybe I can polish them to mirror shine finished, if it's steel, then I can dip it in chrome. j/k.
