I went in to Wheeler's today, (to check out some boots that Goldman asked about in another thread) and they just got a new shipment in of ESS goggles and ballistic glasses. They looked really sweet, and they were in my price range too. ($55) 3 lenses, adjustable arms, etc. They have a pic in the catalogue of the same model of glasses that had taken a shotgun blast (I think it was a shotgun blast, anyway) and not shattered, so that works for me. I get really hot really easily, and I can't even wear sunglasses without them fogging up, so tight goggles would be useless to me.
I might just pick up a full paintball mask for the fields that don't allow glasses, that way I can mount a heavy duty fan inside. lol. |

Yep it was a shotgun, and ive seen a pic of a marine wearing the Revision eyewear with a large piece of metal from a blast implanted in the lense, it would have taken out his eye. So yeah i much rather wear my issued ballistic eyewear than paintball goggles, knowing that if a high FPS BA or even a full auto burst out of an AEG the eyewear will withstand no questions asked. I will not ever go back to the full mask pb goggles ever again as i used to have the fogging up problem all the time in my paintball days.

hey Marci, what kind of boots are those in the last pic from OPQP? I've been looking for some desert boots lately and those look nice.

Wow the exact pair I was looking at. How do you like them. Is the build similar to the black original swat boots?

They are awsome, almost like wearing runners. I have never used the SWAT original black boots, only the magnums.

http://originalswat.com/home2.shtml They're made by "Original Swat." I've used the black classic side zips and the steel toe version. Great boots. The classics feel just like your wearing running shoes. The only down side I've noticed is the soles wear down kinda fast. They are a very soft material so that's probably why. But I was wearing them 12h/day, 7 days a week for approx 8 months (walking on cement) before they wore down. Now the bottoms look like skate shoes. Still wearable but not alot of traction.

Iceman if you looking for a good pair of boots you might want to check out these Magnum Amazon 4 desert boots. I bought a pair from Dave's Surplus recently and I've been wearing them for day to day stuff, great boot with no breakin time, light and offers alot of support. Good tight fit and easy to walk in. As an added bonus Dave will give you a great price, I spent $130 taxes and shipped to Quebec for my boots.
Here is the link on Dave's site http://www.davesarmysurplus.com/prod...roducts_id=355 Jakster |
