Ok, I've noticed that there not very many upgrades/accessories for the AUG's, probably because of the guns odd design, I ,mean I can obviously upgrade the shooting power to 400fps but do you find (other than buying a scope) that accessories for airsoft guns to be mainly for show? Like yes they do do what they do but have you found in your experience to be effective? If you guys had a choice which would you prefer, a TM AUG or a CA AUG?

you can buy shorter outer barrels and make them a CQB AUG very easy...they are around 25" when finished. M4 length inner barrel (still good outside) and short enough to be used for CQB. Check link

there's also the A3 version conversion although there's an AUG A3 coming out soon. it's so sick. the most you'll need for an AUG is a scope, you don't need anything else. the CA takedown is fairly simple. lock back bolt, remove barrel, push button and remove receiver.
as for external upgrades, i know there is a rail attachment that you can mount on the receiver, on the exhaust holes. that's exclusive for the AUG... as for more rails, the A3 conversion is available, or overkill lol. I know there's a rail mount that mounts a rail on a 45 degree angle on another rail, so you can put that on the A2 if you want a light or laser to offset your scope, would look sweet. I know Raygis is selling one, check his sale thread. All I've got on my AUG is an Aimpoint RDS, and that's all I need, aside from mags, plenty of mags. PS: i've moved the RDS forward since this pic

Well if the CQB means what you did to your AUG in those pictures I dunno if I like the look, but how is its performance? (I will do my research on CQB just not now, I'm at my friends house with a 28k modem, so it would take me donkey's years to read up on it.) I was thinking when I want to upgrade the gun later on about using the Phantom Kit for the AUG, I think its looks alright and the barrel looks to be about the same length and with the huge silencer should be VERY quiet.

Thats an awesome looking AUG as is takatorikku, quite frankly I'd be pretty happy with that for a while. I'm thinkin I'll get a scope at some point, nothing to fancy and a laser would be nice because where I play its indoor and the lighting is very dark, but not pitch black.

in that case G3, i'd recommend (this applies to TM or CA) a red dot scope, the aimpoint on my AUG only cost $65, a scope mount (the cantilever on mine is $25) and the G&P Lower Side Rail Attachment found here:
http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=32245 along with the KA laser for another $65... all of those should run you around $600 before taxes/shipping. and with the A2 railed AUG, you don't get a scope "at some point". you get it when you get the gun lol, you can't aim it otherwise, there's no ironsights.

Ya ok, I was looking at the L500 laser, it looked not to bad. Yes I am getting a the TM AUG Rail Type but I thought that it did come with flip up sights... that kinda disappointing....

Yes, it comes with sights, but they're pretty crappy. Still usable though.

The CA Aug mechbox is pre-upgraded to shot 330. It most likely will decrease from the longer barrel as well. If you are going to upgrade an Aug for longer range.. Tightbore.. so far its the best upgrade ive done to it. I got the PSG-1 length (590mm x 6.03mm) barrel on it. |

If you need rails on your AUG I recommend RTS. I have one mounted on my AUG and I'm very happy with it.

TM was known for it's high quality guns, but now a bunch of other companies are matching, if not succeeding that quality. i've owned nothing but CA and Maruzen rifles, and I've never had a problem other than the occasional worn down part with time.

Ok, so just to verify, the CA AUG 1 has a built on scope where as the AUG 2 just has the rail, just like the TM AUG Rail Type cept different make? Thats what I came up with anyways. So according to you CA has come a ways in their quality. Now I'm confuzzled, I figured just get the TM, but now I like the fact that the CA comes with a higher fps rate but I'm just worried that it won't stand up to the abuse I'll probably put it through and I don't want it to start wearing out and breaking down only after like a year of use... I'll have to think about it for a bit and do some more research.
