The TM ring should fit.. I've done it successfully several dozen times.

ok i got some pics of the problem
first is the TM barrel lock, which only goes on about a turn and a half.. the secong is a G&P barrel lock, which goes on all the way. but i need the TM to fit casue i dont have the rest of the parts that go with the G&P barrel lock |

That's weird because the TM ring ought to fit the G&P metal boy. The threads on the TM ring are fine, right? No burs or anything like that.
Can you try both rings on the original TM body? |

If it's offering some resistance, you *could* try filing down the threads, carefully. You did mention that it did thread 1.5 times which means that the pitch should be correct, probably the manufacturing process made the thread slightly too deep.

i had though about this but didnt know which side to use, was thinking about using some fine sand paper and sanding down the inside of the barrel lock as if i mess it up its much easier to replace then then the lower receiver.... thing that might work??

Have you tried both nuts on the TM body to determine if its a screw pitch problem or otherwise?

but as displayed in the pics the G&P barrel lock will go al the way on (which is no good to me because to use that one i would have to have a G&P front end) and the TM one only goes on a few threads!! i have been sanding the inside of the TM lock nut and in dunno if it going to work yet or not... but i don`t really want to sand/file the body down i`m scared to mess it up!! |

In that case, I suggest putting some grease on the threads of both parts and slowly work the TM nut into the G&P mb. |

Since the screw pitch is correct, what you're doing is just grinding away the high spots on the threads. Good luck!
