Ya I know but I've always been like that. When I was I kid I would never use my expensive toys. I kept them nice and perfect on the shelf. Guess I haven't lost that. I probably will use my VFC 416 in the right conditions though. Yes,yes I will!

I use my VFC HK416 but it still is just a simple power coating. They actual research what kind of material and coatings RS/manufactures are using and get as close to that as possible. Is some cases as with the HK416 they used the same processes but lighter coats making it less expensive.

Take a look at their website http://www.gb-tech.com.tw/

You will be glad to know that the coating on the HK416 are very tough. I fell on top of ming landing on a concrete floor running at a full sprint. All 236lbs of me on top of my gun. I though shit I just wrecked my gun. After catching my breath I looked my gun over and saw one very small nic in the rail and a small scratch but nothing else.

I've owned mine since June of last year skirmish 2-3/month and it still looks great. Yes it does have wear but it looks like a gun thats treated well but get used. The wear is in all the right places as well making the gun look great when on the field.

It is good to know that the gun is very tough. I will most likely just use the 416 in my forest. We usually attack each other in an old dairy barn, the feed lot and out buildings. An Mp5 sized gun or smaller works better in the barn. The guns take a beating when you are in the barn because of all the old metal pipes etc that are in there. It's alot of fun when the bb's are pinging off all the old pipes and posts and things. Dust and white wash flying everywhere! I probably won't use the 416 in there.

have you heard from 007, word on the forum was that his shipment was caught up at customs for a while... I have a vfc 416 on order from Ken as well (due to be delivered last week)

No I haven't tried to contact him since he said it would be around the end of March. I read about the rumored delay at customs. I figured I would wait until a week or so into April and if it doesn't show up then I will get a hold of him and see whats up.

VFC external vs Hurricane kit?

I was gonna swing by HK in the summer and pick up internals, and then pick up the hurricane kit from a retailer here in in Canada.
Figured I would get better internals than the stock VFC and then have a pretty good gun at a decent price.
Should I jump on the fading VFC, or stick with the original plan?

IMO the VFC is more accurate in color. The two tone look and feel of the VFC HK416 is just about an exact match. The barrel color weight ... There's way to much to list. The VFC's HK trades are better if you go that way as well. I have VFC trades on mine but they are done VERY well.

Theres nothing wrong with the Hurricane kit but I bought the VFC.

just a question why would VFC stop just because umarex got license? I thought the licensing is pure trade only?!? so remove it and it should be back in action, just like KSC and glock. I just dont get why

Trade marks are not limited solely to writing on a gun. The entire gun can be copyrighted, or just the look or internal parts or operation or anything.

Perhaps VFC does not want to risk butting heads with Umarex over it, and will just go on to build something else, and still make their money anyways.
