for anyone to be able to modify this stock to fit a V7 gearbox+motor, you will need to modify the gear box.
the angle of the motor on the V7 gearbox will not allow it to fit into the stock. on the TM M4 the motor fits inside the grip on the stock, but with the JAE100 the grip is now at a different angle. so yea, unless some airsoft company wants to make this as a stand alone AEG with a slightly different gearbox, you guys are out of luck. it sure as hell is nice thoe.

Hey
Well, how do people fit the gearbox in a EBR or MDR stock then? Justin

i hope this is clear enough to see. the angle at which the motor is joined to the gearbox will have to be changed for it to fit in the JAE-100.

According to Dynamo's pictures, an airsoft JAE stock will need to include a new motor cage that holds the motor at a steeper angle, or maybe even a drive shaft add-on so the motor can be housed completely in the grip.
Either way, if they pull it off, I'd pick up a SOCOM, drop that in and have sex with it.

Hey
Yeah, I see what you mean Dynamo, but I also agree with what The Saint said, a new cage or a driveshaft, like what they use in RC Boats. Justin

well, to give you hope, the DMR kit comes with a new motor cage or w.e you want to call it to accommodate the different motor location, so im sure making this stock for airsoft would be no problem and would most likely come with a new motor housing.

Yes, the JAE-100 is really very sexy!!!
I can't wait for anyone to make an airsoft version (to be hornest, I can't squzze any penny for that anyway), and the real steel is totally out of question for us in Hong Kong, so I am now making mine with aluminum blocks, epoxy putty and wood (yes, I would like to have a wood finish at the end...). It takes me about 2 weeks works to complete the parts of the aluminum skeleton, which is due to complete within a day or two (glue them all together around my M14, drill holes and re-inforce them with screws...) Yes, it will end up looks differently with the real steel. But who cares! I just want one that fit me the best. (p.s. I have another VSR-10 which I have modified the grip part and fit me very well, so I am going to follow this countour for this project. Sorry that I haven't take any photo for this project yet. I will keep you update if you are interested in. Last edited by mooklan; March 26th, 2008 at 05:18.. |

I just glue the aluminum skeleton together and in the mean time taking some pictures. If you cannot see any photo here, please go to my Flickr:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/2503564...th/2364546398/ Overall of the metal parts for the stock. M14K (with the M60 gas tube) with hand-made top hand guard with side rail. Also notice that I am using the origional SOCOM scope mount that come with this M14. Close up of the gas tube (not glued yet) Close up of the tail end which is fixed to the receiver. Close up of the forward block of the top hand guard, which also serve as the front pin connection... Clamp up during the first application of glue. (Epoxy with Aluminum dust.) Start to take shape... A joke for myself: now I understand why it is "Industry"...... : making everything always involve dust, so you are actually picking your product from dust..... The aluminum skeleton is due tofinish after then 2nd gluing (with epoxy putty to fill in gaps) and screwing. Hope that I don't screw it up at the end. (finger crossed...) |
