[QUOTE=swatt13;725251]well to me its worth it because your not always worried about your gun going down on you.... [quote]

Unless it's raining. Seems that the "Achillie's Heel" of the PTW is moisture getting in around the trigger contacts. Lutnit has had this problem, and at the Muskoka game last weekend, Scarecrow's PTW went to sleep becuase of it as well.

Best to have a PTW with you, and a spare reliable AEG as a back up if it's going to be a wet game.

Nacchi experienced the same issues with his PTW as well (it would fire in full auto just fine, but not semi), though mine ran without issue. I'm sure you could waterproof it with a little work.

Sounds like it's a contact issue, in which case if you coat it with something it won't allow the transfer of electricity from one contact to the other. basically putting a coating on will make it a capacitor: DC blocking.

I have played all winter here in Victoria with my ptw without any moisture issues, not one and if you have ever been to the westcoast you understand how much rain we get, then a few weeks ago i was at a milsim and I had my ptw go into the "burst only" mode due to moisture in the contacts. Go figure, since it was may and it was barely raining in the morning, and sunny in afternoon, proably 3-4 hours after the rain stopped the gun started to shoot in burst only. Not a big deal, easy enough fix, dry it out and its been fine since. But i do agree, a bit of an achillies heel and whos' to say that next time it won't fire at all cause of the issue, I may have just got lucky

I've never had a problem with my AEG's.

Oh and yup, looks like an MP5.

There's a guy in the UK who can waterproof the electronics using some kind of eletronic varnish. He also rebuilds systema motors. Search for it in the systema forums.

Me want. I prefer an MP5 to an M4.
Especially that MP5A4, it's my favorite version!

i was just wondering, how close are the dimensions to real steel. i know that the ptw m4 is thinner then the tm and so on aegs, but is the ptw m5 thinner then its tm variant. im asking because i wanted to put an mp5 stock and foregrip on a tm.
