ahh agreed- though to my mind the IP reasons make the best evidence that Crosman did license the designs as of 2008- Crosman isnt like the China companies as being in the USA they are directly open to copyright lawsuits etc. When they announced their 2008 releases it was obvious their AEG and pump shotty for this year are the same as the TM designs. Plus Crosmans stuff has sucked harsh to date and then suddenly they have a decent AK and M3... but still it wouldnt be unheard of for a corporation to try to screw over another corporation so until I see proof I will agree to mention that it is hearsay

Can anyone enlighten me on what these "new" crosmans are and where I can find them? The only stuff I see on the Crosman site is the same old clearsoft / crapsoft that they always have.

Although I think that $200 US is pretty ridiculous for that AK model. You can get better quality guns for less than that in the US. Chances are it's a China clone that you could get for about $100 US outside of Canada.

yeah when it hit the retail stores in the USA at Pyramid it was going for $120 so I suspect they didnt predict the drop in AEG prices and had to re-evaluate their $200 tag lol. Course you can get a JG or a CYMA for around that price too in the USA so I wouldnt be surprised if most of the sales are from clear guns into Canada. The shotty goes for about $60 but thats what the UTG shotty goes for as well. Have not found the clear shotty in Canada so I cant say much about it.
I got my Pulse R76/AK for $120CAD though so I cant complain. A friend and I compared his stock AK Beta with it when we were stuck in a trench over the last game and it has the same fps, range, accuracy and ROF (note is has 300fps with .2s - the 375 is more of Crosmans .12 BullSpit). We put it side by side with the local AK Betas and they are identical aside from the stock and muzzle area and look to be 100% uprgadable so in terms of a good gun to upgrade or for parts it works fine. I still think the Kraken is the best ugly sister for your money though- you can even get the nonclear ones at www.buypaintball.ca for $158. http://www.pbase.com/albro/image/98450299 (pic is by Al 'BuckshotDaddy) Last edited by MillerBRo; June 11th, 2008 at 20:35.. |

So is the Crosman made in China?

I have not been inside the gearbox yet but so far it looks to only have the Crosman trademarks- I have heard rumors that some people have found CYMA internals which I can believe but I also hear guys who claim they found TM internals. The gun uses more metal than any other Crosman but also doesnt use metal that the JG or CYMA ones do so that might point to TM... or to Crosman just cheeping out lol.
Soon as I can tell the origin of the parts I'll be sure to post it though- edit- link to the review I did on it for the regional airsoft forum in the BC lower mainland. http://www.airsoftkelowna.com/forum/...1785#post31785 Last edited by MillerBRo; June 11th, 2008 at 20:29.. |

I know Crosman pellet guns are all made in Japan by Umarex. They now offer quite a full line of AEGs, including a couple of AK variants, but no folding stock models.
Was there no indication of the country of origin on the box or in the manual?

Bingo! Checked the box and its in English and French (obviously made for Canada lol) but in small letters on the back:
'Made in China'. I'd think the CYMA rumors have more merit now myself. |

Yeah, it would have surprised me to see it was made in Japan. In this world of "pick the cheapest bidder", China is the norm.

yup- it would be odd for an American Corporation to NOT outsource the labour to China lol. In theory it could still be TM internals but I seriously doubt it for the same reasons (CYMA is cheap and cheap sells).

So when the tri-nozzle goes in these shotguns we will be able to take them back to the retailer for warranty.... that could be good
