just wanted to let you guys know I went with the KJ Beretta M9 Elite IA from 007. After reading alot of *my mags leak* threads I descided to go for new. No scrathes = win.
Hope I made a good choice, read alot of reviews on it and seems like a solid shooter. and its not your run of the mill glock. Lemme know if you guys can give some insite. Also Ken warned me stearnly against the use of propane... As to not break my new gun I just went with green gas... anyone run this gun on propane before? |

Huh? Green gas IS propane. Same shit, only 20 times more expensive....

oh well its only 30 buxs. I will look into an adapter for it after this bottle is gone. The fact that its got the lube in it is a bonus.

Sounds go me that someone wanted to sell you a $10 can of green gas at $20 profit...
Anyway, get the AI gas kit. It includes the propane adapter and silicone oil. That's all green gas is anyway - propane with a different scent added, and some silicone oil to lube your seals. You get about 2x more propane in a Coleman can for $3 than you get in a can of green gas for $30...

If he warned you against propane then you probably shouldn't be using green gas as it's the same thing.
Maybe you should be using duster? I'm not actually sure how they hold up with propane but a metal slide and some other minor upgrades should fix that. It's probably best to also avoid things like Red gas, Black gas, Jet gas, and "Girl Fart" gas (apparently named so because of the "pleasant smell").

the one that I got coming to me from 007 has a metal slide already. everything is metal but what is required by law to be smoked plastic.
Sitting here waiting for the email back is killing me lol. I know it won't come until tuesday but still can't wait lol. |

Oh well then I guess I never did understand what was said at all. It was pretty late when I posted and I actually just got out of a ~6 hour Axis and Allies session but that's not really an excuse for not understanding. I should have just not posted at all.
Propane isn't meant to be used in the gun in the sense that you need to use silicone oil every few mag fills. I guess it can be summed up into the difference between buying prerolled smokes or buying the papers, loose tobacco and rolling yourself. One is cheaper, the other is more "convenient" I guess. It's in the FAQ section though, that they're the same. Just one has lubrication for you, the other you need to use silicone oil every few mag fills.

no worries man, I understand the fatigue of a good axis and allies game.
good way of putting it though with the smokes... I will have to read the faq closer, so your saying chemicaly they are the same? *btw if your even in kelowna you gotta let me know, come over and I will smack you around with japan or USSR* |

Yes, they are the same. Green gas is propane with a lubricant additive. So essentially the exact same as adding silicon oil when you inject propane into the mag. Chemically the same gas, but with a lubricant added.

As a testament to this, I have a can of green gas here (that was forgotten by a friend - I'd never buy it). On the label it says:
DANGER: Propane is extremely flamable. Keep away from heat, sparks, and open flame... CARBON MONOXIDE HAZARD: Burning propane creates carbon monoxide... I think that says it all right there.
