You would think that EVERYONE would paint the clear lower reciever anyway, couldnt they make abs like bright blue or red? Or why don't they do it all black abs and then put a shitty coat of paint that could come off with paint thinner?
Or is this whay it HAS to be clear? |

It has to be semi-clear or clear

tinted recievers usually come out stronger than transparent anyways... Most transparent plastics seem to be really brittle.
Maybe they can make it out of plexiglass!!!! (jkjk) Since it's a GBB it will probably be out of reach of minors anyways due to price. Unless they're spoiled... |

Don't quote me on this, but there was a robbery a number of years ago where the robber had painted the tip of his real gun orange to give him the drop on law enforcement. I'll look for it now. |

Honestly, if you paint a clear reciever it is production of prohibited device just fyi. Basically you can get charge with it. |

HK makes (or used to make) a USP with a clear frame. So it goes both ways when you look at it from LE's perspective.

not to nit pick but i believe that is incorrect info. the clear reciever is for importation not ownership.

Hmm, I'm sure this is case by case basis, however, do you want to go through all that trouble in the first place? Sure you can win the case, but at what cost? thousands of dollars?

Also for sale and transfer, I believe.

I don't see what the difference is between the two... for one why go through all the trouble of getting a black one just to watch your back all the time, hiding it except for games? the clear one does the exact same thing, same performance (correct me if I'm wrong) and you can take it wherever you want. you can play with the guys in a field behind your house; and not have to worry about it getting confiscated, not to mention avoiding charges.
People are so snobby about their guns... really it's about the game not having a good looking gun. But that's just my two cents.

Your only supposed to take it out when your using it anyways, It's illegal to discharge any airgun in city limits anyways so it doesn't really matter. That and it IS about having a good looking gun for lots of people, that is part of the hobby. If you don't like it go play paintball and shut the hell up.

I tried the WE SCAR with clear lower receiver this past weekend and was very impressed. Very easy to dissasemble, can do it in about 15 secs. Also had some kick to it, alot more than I had imagined. It actually takes a bit of skill to keep it level when in full-auto. I for one, will be buying a GBBR as a next purchase. These guns add to the realism of the sport and I forsee the future of airsoft heading this direction.
