I've ran my kraken stock for 2 years and counting. Upgrades are only just woodkit, killed my plastic reciever at milsim but after throwing it a few meters at defcon and assorted abuse in the span of 2 years it got my respect. I can glue the broken part back but I need an excuse for a metal body. My suggestion is just run the gearbox until it's dead or preforming really poorly.
Try throwing a crosman r76 or TF-16 like I did with my kraken and they probably won't shoot ever again without replacement parts.
