But by that ideal, wouldn't that mean less popular upgraded guns/crappy popular models=less business?

Noone imports them into Canada because it's not worth the hassel, effort, or cost for an exceptionally sub-par AEG. The M14 is one gun where none of the existing clones comes close to the TM in terms of quality and performance.
