I'm not sure if I'm a fan of Flecktarn now or not. It seems that the Gortex rain jackets (flecktarn) look pretty good, but they don't fade. It seems Flecktarn looks really bad if it fades at all, and there doesn't seem to be much contrast between colors. I like that Dutch DPM that you posted Rizzo. There's greater contrast and would work well in the fall and spring, and ok in the summer.

The clear winner in concealment competitions for over 30 years was almost always DPM. That says something.
My real life experience tells me Flecktarn is better in Canada. Cadpat beats DPM hands down, except that I find the brit uniform more comfortable by far.

So...can anyone make a CADPAT uniform in the S95 pattern? Cuz that'd be freaking awesome

I got my set of CADPAT stuff a few days ago (thanx to SealsActionGear) and hope to do some images on that soon, although this topic is on DPM vs. Flecktarn. But I can try to set a little CADPAT in, too...

I skirmish at a site here in the UK that has some good woodland areas that are close to some areas of Canada. I normally use Flecktarn, but next Sunday I'm going to put a set of HyperStealth's SpecAm HCD Woodland BDUs to the test.
I'll post photos....

As far as DPM goes it works ok. But it has large patches of black on it, which as the RAF discovered in the late 80's early 90's, black is great for making things stand out so they painted all the training aircraft black so they were easy to see. As a cadet in a scottish regiment, I go with DPM, but I also don't have any grudge against Flectarn. To my eyes they both work.

That's why faded S95 is so nice the black turns to grey!

Indeed it does I prefered by 84 issue kit that I was issed with in basic training in 1996. I didnt get issued 95 kit until 2001. The older 84 kit was a lot warmer, but then we were never issued with the complete 95 kit which is supposed to be if used properly a layered system, meh, bloody RAF penny pinching again
