lol i've thrown my aug around enough times, it can handle abuse. my buddy's got the CA15 tactical, and he dropped it on a rock from 20 feet once, no problems.. it's up to you man, i'm a CA lover so naturally i'll tell you to buy a CA. tell you what, make an apointment at the airsoft canada armoury, and have a nice long chat with miles about which brand to buy. you won't be dissapointed in either brand.

lol ya right! I've tried emailing those guys and they NEVER reply! Its quite annoying, and I'm waiting to get age-verified so I can actually buy a gun. Thats really starting to ruffle my feathers... I dunno we'll see. Did your CA AUG come full metal? I just read on a web site that the CA AUG comes full metal where as the TM AUG comes with some metal.

don't get angry at them. they get thousands of emails a day, they'd probably get back to you within a month of sorting. give them a call 416-250-0623, it's quicker and you'll get age verified at the shop.
and yes, my aug is full metal where it should be. takes a beating too, and the scuff marks just wipe off.

ASCA has one. It's just an adapter that you can use your own flash-hider or suppressor over. It's quite similar to the one Hortons Heros has, without the little spacer section:
http://www.ascarmoury.com/product_in...roducts_id=548 The only correct para flash-hider that I've found is the KM one here: http://www.uncompany.com/pageproduct...sp?prodid=3897 I don't think anyone makes the 9mm para flash-hider yet, but then, the magwell adaptor doesn't exist yet either. Both the TM and CA AUGs are considered full metal. I think the only aesthetic difference is that the CA one has Steyr Mannlicher trademarks.

Actually, does anyone else find it funny that his screen name is G3SG1 and yet he's lusting after an AUG?
Hitler was also confused as to whether he was Austrian or German.

Hey hey krazie sj, I still want that gun but I can't find any for sale brand new in canada, so I'm settling with the AUG.
P.S. and I think lusting is to strong of a word for it. My life does not revolve around it. |

The reason why the CA Aug is has a higher rate of fire because they come with a high torque motor.
I run at 9.6V, the RoF is nice. With the longer inner barrel i haven't had problems with barrel jamming yet, but Im pretty sure it will happen. Just gotta make sure you get high quality BB's. I was happy to see that i didn't need to change my cylinder when i got the tightbore. I never used a CA Aug yet.. i would love to try one out see how the quality differences are. I felt once time at FR with my aug during the winter time. It did crack the TM body. I run the phantom kit on it so its a lot of weight on the reciever and all the weight of it falling on a rock torqued the reciever enough to put a decent crack along my top of the body. Both Augs are metal barrel and reciever, with an ABS body (both at 3.5kg) Last edited by lord_sid; December 17th, 2006 at 02:21.. |

So you wanted to find a brand new G3SG1 and didn't look at one of the two remaining retailers in Canada?
Anyway, I'm probably picking up an AUG in the future as well... and after holding the two, I know I'll be going with a CA AUG A2 (even tho the A1 is soooo sexy). The CA feels sturdier than the TM, even though the TM has better internals, the CA is good too if you don't mess with it, and really you don't need to mess with it. The build quality on the CA seems better to me than on the TM, even though they're both solid by virtue of their body design.

Well actually I did check all of the retailers that I could find and I did know that CA and TM had basiclly the same guns just their own make and I knew they both had AUG's, but I thought the CA would have been called G3 SG1 as well and seeing as how the site didn't have a picture of the gun I had no idea that it was basically the same gun. As for me not getting it now, I'm a little worried that with airsoft having problems with the customs that I won't be able to get all the things I need for the gun. Where as I can get everything I need for the AUG right off the bat and not have to worry about it. I've also read that the G3 has barrel problems such as wobbling, and I don't want to have to deal with that. AND I'm going to have to go buy a rail and other things for the for the gun and right now, I don't exactly have all that much money to be putting into it. Also the CA AUG seems to have the same amount of power as the G3 and it has the same length barrel and I have not heard about anything wrong with the AUG's they sound like their very well built and can with stand a beating, except for the vertical grip which I am having replaced. On top of all of that, the design is very unique which I do like, I love both designs, but it seems that alot of people have the G3 as is and is known for its sniping ability, so AUG sounds pretty good to me.

Actually I've seen more Augs at games more than G3. And the barrel wobble only applies to TM's plastic G3, the CA one is full metal and very nicely built.

Hey guys, is it possible to take the CA AUG 2 and exchange the motor and gears and stuff inside it with a TM AUG? Just curious.
