well it is not necessarily needed to have another AEG(platform) to upgrade.
You could just buy all the parts you need so that everything is brand new (complete gearbox, motor... etc)

but yes there are things you need to make a working HK416 airsoft rifle out of the kit

Well...it all depends. If you can get donor internals from say a busted up TM M4 for aprrox 200$ or something and get some upgrades thats not a bad way to go. THe VFC 416 costs ~1100$ Shoots at 325 - 335FPS so ...theres your comparison. You could potentially win by getting the kit. I'd personally get the kit just for the experience of *building* a gun, but thats just me

And (Correct me if im wrong) that silencer i believe is from airsoparts.ca or i saw one like it on there MadBull Gemtech silencer, comes witha flashhider that the silencer attaches onto.
