Quote: Police also found about 30 air-powered guns,
I don't think this is a huge issue besides the fact that the guy is a bit young. Quote: The weapons included a 9mm assault rifle that the teenager's mother had recently bought for him, However this is a major issue and should be addressed, but putting a child in jail will not do anything to resolve the problem. It's a sad state of affairs to think that I cant get an air soft gun because of stupid import laws and closed minded people, but a child who does not know any better than what their parents teach them or don't teach them can be handed a real firearm and toled hear you go have fun just use your better judgement. Must be one of those cases of "do as I say not as I do" because if the parent makes a choice like to give a child a deadly weapon I could only imagine the logic, reasoning and values that have been instilled in said child. I have to feel sorry for the kid even if he is or was on the road to becoming a nut case should the parents not be the first to notice something amiss in the behaviors of their child and and want to do something about it? That being said I'm not a smart guy or a parent but this seems like a case of "under parenting" and the mother should be in the adjacent cell as her actions are unacceptable.

Is a carbine sized individual weapon with provision to be fired from a shouldered position. Barrel length is usually 400 mm to 500 mm (16” to 20”) Is capable of selective fire. Fires from a locked breech. Utilizes an intermediate powered-cartridge. Ammunition is supplied from a large capacity detachable box magazine. Most common is a capacity of 30 rounds, sometimes 20 rounds. I'm sure the kids 9mm had a low capacity mag probably 5 rounds and could have only been semi auto or the mother got an illegal firearm off the street and gave it to her kid in that case this just keeps getting better.

I was looking at pics on militaryphotos dot net and i saw this.
From what i read, thats the person we are talking about. Some white trash... Quote:military photos dot net Dude looks like he's made one too many trips to McDonalds.. Dillon Cossey, 14, is returned to his cell from the courtroom at the Montgomery County Courthouse after his hearing in Norristown, Pa. on Friday, Oct. 12, 2007. Cossey was charged as a juvenile with solicitation to commit terror and other counts. Authorities say the teenager had a cache of guns, knives and explosive devices in his bedroom for a possible school attack. His mother, Michele Cossey, was charged Friday with buying her son three weapons. (AP Photo/Bradley C. Bower)

As a parent myself I would never let my kids have ,own or buy them a real weapon. I wont even let them play with my clearsoft guns that I bought before I discovered the real airsoft guns. In my opinion the parents should be held accountable and face the same charges as their son. I could go on foreverabout this but I wont.

hey Flame, real guns have to be stored in a safe, the kid shouldnt be able to touch the firearm if your not there, anyways, its only for paper punching and hunting.

in a perfect world the kid and his mom would both get 9mm "assault rifles" and be forced to shoot it out on tv. That otta scare the crap out of the public and make for good watching. From the media`s point of view, thats win-win.

i wonder how much crack his parents were doing? that is a very biased report and the fact that the mags shown in the vid were airsoft. ya sure they were for "automatic rifles"(that fire BB's not bullets). but they are being used as if they were the weapons to be concerend with(more) as they look more imposing. it just sickens me.
Oh btw im 16 and if i owned a gun i would take the utmost care of it and it would be off limits to everyone. the only time it would be out would be for cleaning/hunting/or on the range for target practice. but i guess some ppl just dont have the brain capacity to stop there teen or themselves.

i have my canadian firearms licences for prohibitid (handguns) non restricted(any basic semi or bolt action rifle within reason) and my restricted(high caliber rifles atoumatic weapons and some handguns) but i know that you just dont have them laying about on the floor. i have a gun case for them that i change the combo on every month(it sucks when i forget it somtimes) but the media is making anyone who owns a gun (airsoft and paintball included) to be a criminal and it sucks. iv had the police come to my house and search it because a certin someone my neihboor hint hint thinks im runing a smal army out of my basement. people just need to relize not everyone wants to go shoot up a school just becaues they have guns.
