Actually simpler than I thought....

You can stipple polymer rail cover too for your long arms...

Just as an FYI too, Redwolf now is selling "Airsoft Surgeon" pre-stippled grip for Hi-Capa...I am more interested actually in the trigger guarde undercut, but its an interesting product for the masses...

I do the trigger guard undercut with a Dremel tool, and it's quite effective. It really helps in getting your hand higher up and closer to the bore for recoil management.

After handling a couple of grips done with grip tape, dot stippling and "tree bark" stippling....I much prefer either grip tape or the dot style stippling.

I like how grip tape seems to "wear down" to a certain point and then stays constant. A shame that the piece that RM gave me got torn up a bit on my field gun at a game (I'm still using my field gun as my comp gun).

After handling JR's GBBR with the rail covers/vert grip done up with the dot stippling...it's just an awesome feel. IF you're wearing gloves. If you're not, I wouldn't want to be shooting real steel with sharp mini "craters" like that. If they were knocked down a bit to remove the sharpness a bit it'd be great.

I'm not confident on my skills doing it, but I've got an extra Hicapa grip and I'll give it a whirl for the next race gun build.

Here's a much better video that doesn't make you buy it on ebay
YouTube- Weihrauch HW40 PCA - Grip Mod (Heat Stippling)

Here's a forum post with more ideas with different tools stuck onto a soldering iron

I actually ran the rail cover over with some sandpaper to just to "debur" the real sharp stuff, so its just a surface texture after. It can probably be clean up more, right now it feels like 150-200 grit sand paper. The Glock one actually isn't that bad, mainly because the way I dip the tip into the grip that rolls the material away, but not form a real sharp tip at the site. It is rough, but I don't think it cuts. There are some spot that may benefit from a bit of sandpaper work though...

I agree though, grip tape looks cleaner, and its replaceable....

Shock, thanks for the video and forum link, all the info I can get my hands on is helpful.

What drew me to the video I posted is the pattern he creates using a large head on the iron which saves time and creates a more even and professional pattern.

I'm also interested in more than just stippling.

I would like to try the following mods to a Glock:

• grip reduction
• stippled grip 360
• finger grooves removed
• mag well cut outs
• rounded trigger guard 3/4 stipple
• stippled thumb rests
• contoured front and rear of slide
• forward cocking serrations

The last two mods intimidate me the most.

Are you doing that to plastic slide? For metal ones you probably need to machine it no?

Milan, if you want slide work done to a metal slide, I can get that done at the shop. Something to consider if you want a custom slide machined to high precision.

Definitely something I will be interested in.
Also, what Dremel attachment are you using for the trigger guard undercut?

I finally got my hands on a soldering iron.

I sanded down the ribs on some KAC rail panel covers and tried my first attempt at stippling:

I use the 40W setting. Seems to work best.

I just started on some rail covers, this is a gloves only pattern though.

I too would like to do a Glock up like the Bowie Tactial one (is their site down for everyone?) I just got the laser grip on my G19 and it's a bit greasy feeling.

I definitely like the stippling effect on the grips, but I couldn't bring myself to do it to one of my own..
