I have a JG Dragon, and I love it! When i take her out to game, she's the talk of the field... lol... i almost have to hide her in the trunk, everyone just wants to molest her... pretty funny. it's a perfect combination of rubber, plastic, and "steel" lol... very nice feel and weight.
I am planning on doing some air brushing and give her a "hot" used look. right at the front of the fore grip where the battery goes, there are dimples, i'm planning on adding exhaust whips coming from the dimples while painting them black, or even drilling them out to make them look more like heat ports (hard to describe - it's all in my head). i'll have to post pics when i get her painted up this summer.
The only problem i have with her is the semi auto doesnt like to fire every time - u have to switch to full auto, fire a few, then move it back to semi until it does it again. i've read that it's a problem with the JG gear box - i dont really care - it's all about spray n pray while CQBing... lol

I have not read through the entire thread, but regarding the conversion of a JG Dragon to a regular looking AR-15 style rifle, I would suggest looking into the cylinder porting in the gearbox.

Since the JG Dragon has an extremely short barrel, adding a longer barrel might require a new cylinder, with the port in a different position, otherwise the lack of air volume in the cylinder would cause a significant drop in power and accuracy.

You should also note that if you are looking for a more authentic looking rifle, you should consider getting a new pistol grip, because the JG Dragon pistol grip just looks odd to me.

well when I got mine. Before changing anything! out of the box I fired about 100 rounds and it jammed up. I took it apart and the piston head had come loose. The screw holding it to the piston was loose causing it to lock up. This has happend to many of these guns. so I suggest checking that out when you get it. All you gotta do is put some thread tape or lock tight on that screw and tighten it up other than that. Your good to go.Any TM compatible front end will work just make sure you get the inner barrel that fits. And whether you change to something as short as the dragon or as long as the m4 your internals should be fine mine were. I upgraded them anyways but you wont need to.just tape up that screw : )If you have any problems doing all this let me know I would be happy to help......................

The internals are the same in a dragon as they are in a jg m4 just so you know!
And that grip is sick!just ask anybody who has held one................I would keep it...But that's just my opinion!

so my dragon is in the mail, and so is my front end, the pistol grip looks comfy, the main reason i want a new front end is i want rail space.

hi, i bought this rifle from this guy. i love the grip. it does look bulky on what i think is a compact size m4 (i grew up with large hunting rifles) but it really helps keep the rifle steady and using your hand to move the rifle (liek if i had a bi pod on it, which i plan on soon).

Yes, you can, but that would require some modding. You would need to take your gun apart, reroute the wiring into a new stock, either full or crane. If you do end up moving the battery to the stock, you may need a small to large converter, because most large batteries use large plugs, and I'm quite sure the JG Dragon has a small plug on the front.
