Except this thread is definitely about crappy Walmart and Cantire crapsoft so......I think it applies.

There's a big difference between clearsoft and what has come to be known as Cansoft (I fucking HATE that name). The latter I prefer to refer to as airsoft with clear receivers.

But I agree that rule is still valid when referring to clearsoft of the Walmart / Cdn Tire variety. Really, that's not airsoft and has as much place in these forums as discussion about .177 cal air guns.

The OP asked about it, we told him not to. That's within the tolerance of the policy, as there's no discussion in favour of CT or WM clearsoft.

the person didn't come here to ask about the Clear receiver'd G & G's or ICS guns, he came to ask about clearsoft

True, but the answers were rather rude and could be considered flaming. And there's a strict rule against flamine in the Newbie Tank.

And if we simply closed down his thread, as your apparent interpretation of the clearsoft policy would suggest, how would the OP ever learn about the difference between good and bad guns?

If we don't talk about them at all, we can't tell people not to get them, can we?

Let me make this perfectly clear, the clearsoft policy was put into place so we don't support terrible quality clearsoft guns. It doesn't mean we can't talk about them when the subject arises, so long as it's a balanced, factual discussion about why they are a bad choice.

For this thread, the OP asked about them. We told him why we don't deal with them. Then the thread got dragged longer than it needed to be because of the inflammatory comments and arguments. If people had kept their heads in the first place, this thread would've petered out by now.

That is not for you to judge. If you don't like this thread, stay out of it.

Actually, this has served its purpose. Thread closed.

That being said, I only support kids using airsoft when they're under direct adult supervision, and if the kids have NO access to the guns without said adults. That means, the guns get taken away and locked out of the reach of kids when parents aren't supervising. Airsoft is in far too fragile a state in Canada to let kids have guns in their posession without adult supervision.
I think that's great. I bought 2 VSR-10's simply because it's cheaper for ammo for my kids to do target shooting and i can still teach them proper firearms safety/handling. I have 43 acres of wooded land and made a small firing range for them. And they are all locked up along with the real steel in rilfe cabinets (helps teach the kids that they are not toys)
