That sums up everything I had to say about that clip. Well put, Deaf_shooter.

But wait, why are we Canadians making fun of a ATF idiot? Most Canadian citizens have strong phobias to anything vaguely related to the word "gun".

Because an officer of the Alcohol, Tabaco and Firearms bureau should understand the working of firearms. Specifically whether or not a toy can be made into a "machine gun".

Nah... See if I did apply I would have to kill off a lot of brain cells to lower my IQ by about 45. I'm at 125-ish (free IQ test off the internet). Even then I should be at the top or near the top in intelligence to my fellow ATF peer cohort if I did end up getting a job.

That's a lot of brain cells just to get a job. I'd rather work somewhere like ESRI (my dream job next to one working for the Government of Canada or a provincial/municipal government).

Don't laugh it off guys, Some of us may remember the good old ASAHI M40 rifle that was banned in Japan after some idiot managed to changed the barrel to be able to fired off a .22 round, it happen before it can surely happen now.

The RCMP changed the classification of the Norinco Type 97 to prohibited after a team of techs and machine shop managed to make it full-auto. If they could spend thousands of dollars to make a GBBR fire 1 round even 1 time with an unmlimited assortment of parts (damage to gun or shooter is irrelevant), well, consider it prohibited (because we all know it's already illegal).

Company closure

The short-lived success of Entertech was due to law enforcement officers who claimed to have mistaken toy guns to be actual firearms, killing children toting toy guns.[6] In addition, there were report incidents of criminals utilizing toy guns in robberies of retail establishments and even banks.[7][8] In the midst of these highly-publicized incidents, Entertech voluntarily began manufacturing their guns with blaze orange-colored caps in 1987, and began a line of less-realistic neon-colored guns later that year.[9][6]

After Acclaim Entertainment purchased LJN in April 1990, they began phasing out toy manufacturing. Using LJN to make video games instead of toys increased the limit of titles Acclaim could produce for the Nintendo Entertainment System. In September 1990, Acclaim sold the Entertech brand for $1.7 million.[2]

Now unfortunately the problem is that the ATF agent in question won't back down because he jumped the gun on trying to score points for himself; it's not about who's right or wrong it's about him looking like an idiot if he admits he made a mistake.

The fact the ATF allegedly tested the theory and that it was determined that it could be turned into a 'military grade' weapon is just one hilarious load of shiat.

Dont laugh..
this could very well happen here. As crazy as it sounds, all it takes is one politician with an agenda and a firearms "expert".

It's Washington. It wouldn't have happened if it was TX.
