Well you are making more right? And the second one was a spare. I am hoping that your part is more robust than the stock part 27. If it is I won't need two immediately.

Wow, thanks for the offer Eeyore! Right now I am trying to con deadlydayne out of his prototype units. =) I like the raw aluminum look, it makes it easier for me to powder coat them. I am glad I came across this post otherwise I would be having to cast and mill my own. That is a lot of work for a single part, lol.

It appears my proto's have been sold.... Not something I expected. Ok so after doing some math and research for my little DMR project, I think I figured out something that may work here..... So the stock inner barrel is 262mm, The longest -14mm outer barrel extension I found was 11" so we will call it 280mm. That means I can squeeze the 510mm Ra Tech tbb in =) I dont think it will look half bad with this OB extension> M200 OB Extension and heres the tbb I contacted WGC and they said the barrel should work with the Open bolt system.

I had to wrap my inner barrel with tape so it wouldn't bounce around while firing. You may have to do the same. A barrel that long tends to bend a little from it's own length and weight.

Ya i figured id have to make my own "custom" barrel spacers. and electrical tape seemed to be my canidate.

So I tried regreasing the gun with dry teflon coating and it didn't work too good. It's hard to put it on evenly and the bolt is basically stuck until I clean everything out again. I guess I'm sticking with grease.

Ive heard some heavy weight RC shock oil works real nice. Ive put some on to try but havent really had time to test it.

Hey, for those SCAR DMR guys out there. Since I'm still waiting for the RedWolf replacement for part 66 (the one they *up, they've at least been helpful in getting me another one), I haven't been able to shoot with CO2, however, a set of gasses I ordered from HK arrived today, and I have some interesting results for you.
I chronoed and tested different stuff with all three gasses (which are the WE Green Gas, Wenzel Propane and some unknown ET-1600 Red Gas). Alright, internally I've changed my inner for the Ra-Tech 440/6.01 EBR precision one, a Falcon Double Point 80 degree bucking (which is GREAT for hard hitting platforms) and a Ra-Tech NPAS system. I'm waiting to have my gun operational on CO2 before trying out range (70 metres +) performance, so I've only went over power and consistency. I tested each gas for 10 shots, and the results are as follows (With .20 BBs and at 10 ÂșC, which is decently cold [I know, a summer day for you canadian folks]): Green Gas: 484 Avg. FPS, although the FPS varied almost 50 from the first shot to the last, and while I charged the mag well, the gas didn't work for more than 15 shots. Propane: 497 Avg. FPS, same 50 FPS variation from the first shot to the last, same amount of shots pretty much. Propane does not come lubricated, though, so it's better suited for a longer range role (doesn't mess with your hop up). Red Gas: And here's the cool part, 516 average FPS, but the variation was of 13 FPS, and with the same amount of time to charge the mag, it lasted for 3 BB refills on it. I still have tons of testing to do (specially once I get the CO2), and this is very preliminary; but it would appear that red gas is a very considereable option for this kind of platform, and might be a decent alternative for those who don't want to run their guns on CO2, but want better consistency and power than that offered by lesser gasses. Another cool thing to note is how easily the SCAR can reach DMR FPS with just a couple of internal upgrades, and even running on gas. Fox. |

Now correct me if im wrong but the NPAS system is just to downgrade your fps right, to make it field legal.

Its to adjust the fps, you could increase the fps with it too.

ah, well last I knew it was only for downing your FPS wich is why I never bought it. I also heard a rumor that the Open Bolt scar can take VSR-10 tbb barrels, the only difference is that youd have to put an extra notch on the side of the barrel. Any info on that?

What I'm more interested in is range and accuracy testing. Like finding out how well the groupings are at, 100 feet, 150 feet, and so on. I have talked to some people who use strong gases in their we guns. Mostly people using propylene. They say it works good, but the high pressure wrecks your rubber magazine seals really fast. Having to repair them after every game or so.
deadly- all open bolt inner barrels made by we or ra-tech are interchangeable for the most part. This means you can put an 8 inch we scar barrel in a we m14 and verse visa. Looking at these inner barrels, I can see that they look very much like many aeg barrels. I can definitely see it being possible to fit all sorts of inner barrels into we open bolt guns.

Ya im not sure I'd even waste my time with the Propylene if you have to replace seals after everygame. That would get expensive quick.
I just powdercoated my part 27 in a hi-temp black because it was the closest thing that came to "Flat black" I mean I have a flat black powder but the high temp black is more flat black then the flat black. (Alotta flat blacks i know =) anyways damn, those of you who bought anodized black are going to love the look of it, because even the powdercoated one is just stunning.
