I think the paintballers are suffering butthurt since we don't have to scrape cum from a PRIDE parade off our gear at the end of the day.

Make your balls smaller, it'll still be disgusting.

The Apple iPods

Look at how much they used to be, and now they keep adding cheaper and they keep adding features.

but the ipod cant really count because the added features and lower cost has to do with increasing technology.

and the ipod is besides the point because its not a hobby or a recreation.

This is only paintball that ever interested me after discovering AS.

Bike X in 1991 $1099, bike X in 2010 $1099. Both suggested retail prices and not inflation corrected.

Bike with a similar setup to '91 bike X in 2010 $759.

So you could either ride the curve and get a much better bike for the same price or you could ride the backslope of the curve and save money while getting equal performance.

Human nature isn't setup to say "Whoa, I can get the same for less", the average person is going to to the other way, "Hey I can get better for only a little more".

I actually did abandon paintball for airsoft to save money. Not, as it turns out, total expenditure (I've spent a crapload more on AS, but I'm much more enthusiastically into it...), but on day-to-day expenses, i.e. ammo and air fills.

Yeah man, daily costs was a big selling point too. I think the idea of not having to buy 200 bucks worth of paint each game was huge. We used to call the hoppers "20 dollars" so each time we reloaded it was refered to "I have to drop 20 bucks in".

It had nothing to do with money. I played paintball once. Hated it and thought it was uber-gay and stupid expensive for how lame it was. I'd play AS even if it was more expensive(thankfully it's not)

I must clarify; I (and the group I played with) were "woodsball" players. No neon and BMX gear. I only played one season before I and a couple others decided to make the blessed conversion.

Y'know, come to think about it.

The playerbase will have smaller balls by the end of this.

Sounds about right to me.

Actually right now the next new thing in paintball are powder balls. Basically instead of a capsul filled with paint its a ball of powder that breaks on contact and leaves a mark. Apparently they don't have trouble breaking even at long ranges, and because the are not a liqued filled projectile the flight is more stabalized giving about 50-80ft more range and much greater accuracy. Plus they are actually alot cheaper to make.

And I'm guessing the powder will give you a nice, satisfying "puff of smoke" look when it hits.

They should use the "sparkle" capsules like they use in movies to simulate bullet strikes on armour...
