Can't see the opscore site right now (in flash, using iphone at the moment), so i have to ask:

What's that adapter for? If i understand correctly it's a railmount? If so, what difference with the Contour's rail mount itself then?

Thanks

It's for use on the OPS-CORE rails for the FAST helmets and MSA's MICH versions.

K so I take it that if I get a mich replica with rails (airsoft depot) the Contour's railmount won't work?

Will the ops-core one fit on weavers/picatinny rails then?

Thanks for the info

1. Yes. You will need the OPS-Core adapter.

2. AFAIK yes, though someone else should confirm.

ARC rails found on OPSCORE helmets are not the same as picatinny rails.

This will only fit over ARC rails.

If your helmet has picatinny rails get the ContourHD picatinny mount.

youll never fill a 16gb on a single battery.

the software seems good. allows me to edit from my iphone 4 also. since I record airsoft on both. freakin awesome

the gps was to much money for the minimum options.

Kinda hoping someone has made a battery extender?
When I film airsoft I use "start & stop" method rather than recording straight through, adds battery life and saves card space.

Picked myself up one today as well. Tested it in my house, seems nice.

Question though, how have the lenses stood up to being shot at? Ive heard mixed reviews on their strength and just wanted to get the facts straight from the airsoft community.

It will get the camera closer to your helmet for less drag. But it also rotates so you can adjust the pitch....the standard mount is fixed.

Being able to change the pitch is a huge benefit!!! If you stand in front of mirror with your gun up look at the postion of your head. In most cases your head will be down and slighty rotated, so having a mount you can adjust the pitch to compensate is a big plus. It still doesn't address your head rotation I just mount the camera on my rhino arm so its sits in the centre....I find this to be the best balance to record those long shots!!!

Cool, thanks for all the info!
Will definitely help me in choosing a mounting method I'd like

I thought about the Rhino Arm, but wouldn't it make the Contour stand pretty high? Must be inconvenient on the woods with the branches and all, let alone trying to stay under cover, or hidden :P

Valid points.

I don't think I have ever worn a helmet in a "woods" game so I can't give you a honest answer. Lol

If I'm not wearing a helmet out comes the gun camera

In my case, I wear goggles, so it's pretty easy to adjust. The adaptor fits nicely with any ESS or Revision goggles.

Same here, seems like they don't really ship in Canada?

Now I need to find a "ops-core rails" to picatinny adapter someplace else... :/

Edit:
Just stumbled on that looking for *see above*, thought I'd share:
US Troops Ambushed in Afghanistan, filmed on a Contour mounted on helmet
One of the guy was very very lucky for not being shot by his buddy filming O_o... (and he don't get in cover much...!)
