Seriously you guys, stop and think about that. There's a reason you hardly see any M82s on the field. For one it's huge, which means few people short of Rambo will enjoy carrying it through the bush. Pretty much impossible to shoulder, so prone is necessary making its use in heavy bush very limited. Second, because it's so big it has to be built strongly to avoid snapping like a twig and that means lots of aluminum, steel, and expensive machining processes. The price tag matches the dimensions and you could buy a lot of better guns for that kind of money. Thirdly, it's an airsoft gun which means it has velocity, BB weight, and range restrictions. There is nothing you can do with an 8mm Barrett that you cannot do with a 6mm Tanaka M700, and the latter will be far cheaper and a much better field choice. Sure you can crank the Barrett up to firearm velocities but what's the point? You can't shoot anyone with it unless they're hundreds of yards out and what's your accuracy going to be like at that point with a plastic ball that weighs a half gram?

An airsoft M82 isn't that sexy. What is it, maybe, thirty bucks in metal? It's really just a big tube, anyway. Looks like something you'd find at Pottery Barn to hang wine glasses on.
Why not just take this obsession to the next level? |

Theres a reason alot of the guns suggested arnt made. They are ugly as hell and exactly as gryphon said... who wants to spend 3k us on a huge heavy ugly sniper when you can spend maybe a grand canadian and have an equally/even better rifle that looks good and weighs alot less... you save 2 grand for more airsoft guns
Not too many people are willing to shell out the cash for one, so the price tag will remain up there. The market just isnt there for these oddball expensive airsoft guns. |

.50 cal what? We *just* went over the fact that they make the M82, but you could be asking about the Tac-50, or dozens and dozens of other .50 cal weapons.

i totally agree with gryphon, M82 in airsoft = big dissapointment
you could have a 120-mm shoulder mounted cannon, its just a VSR10 with an extra 3 kg of crap metal on it now i would love to see a Mosin Nagant, or a Mauser SP66 http://world.guns.ru/sniper/sn45-e.htm |
