Well thank you both for your answers and advice...
The closest and most looked forward place for me to go airsofting is in WASAGA, which looks amazing! While watching many videos on Youtube about it...I love seeing the typical guy who has all the gear and right camo for the event, while the other has some sort of t-shirt and normal camo pants! I guess I should look at what airsoft "clothing gear" I should buy first along with my first airsoft gun Hope to play you guys in the near future! Um since I kinda got all the info I needed of this thread, can I close it or what? Or does it permanently stay open? I guess I could ask more questions...but I think I'm good for awhile lol Last edited by Armandhammer; April 3rd, 2008 at 23:02.. |

It's nice to have friendly conversations for a change. I do advise one thing though, try to have a vest before you skirmish or game. It's incredibly tacky to shove mags in your pants unless you have baggy cargo pockets and no drop pouch.

lol Dusti69 While reading the Official airsoft noob guide, which was very useful, I learned that sniping was COMPLETELY DIFFERENT AND CHALLENGING? May I ask how? Cause I am a pretty good sniper at the fair games...
In airsoft, It would seem like it would be so much fun and easy to pick off a real opposing player at a long distance! |

Lets put it this way, sniping is airsoft is diffrent becase:
Your not firing a real bullet. The physics do not work exactly the same. Long distance is something thats slightly debatable. Yes seem like it would be fun indeed. Sniping in airsoft is not like counter strike or battlefield 2. If your good at sneaking you'll spend more time doing recon than shooting. Sometimes you'll take on harrasment tasks. Have you ever played an airsoft game yet? No offense to some of the people who enjoy the airsoft sniping role out there. But from the times I have participate or done it myself I have litterally been so bored that I wanted to kill myself. Ive spent hours sitting in the bushes and setting up booby traps without seeing a single opfor.

Thank you for your own example...I guess everyone should try the role eventually though? And no...I'm only 16...so I only dream about about playing a REAL airsoft game with other airsofters. I pretty much read up on these forums to see if I am really interested, because airsoft is quite expensive
Can I hear some other examples of what you did before you could actually play in an airsoft event? Or were you mainly 18 years old when you became interested? |

I'm sure that if someone responsible who was 18+ was to do the same for you in Canada you could play in some games. Provided you're not an asshat i'm sure people would let you try their weapons in a non combat setting. |

Its not really applicabale. I didnt play in any form of scrim or game till I was in my early 20s. Prior to that, it was just somthing I aquired as a hobby, something to tinker with slightly in my spare time.

Well I think that 007 airsoft will be the store where I buy my first airsoft gun! It has a large variety of realistic airsoft guns and it is located in Canada, so there shouldn't be any problems...couple questions though...
1)Is 007 a reliable online store to buy airsoft guns? It seems that it hasn't been updated for awhile... 2)Are there prices on products REALLY reasonable? thank you... http://www.007airsoft.com/main.htm |

1) Some swear by 007, however the shop is run by one man who has his own life outside of airsoft. Communication can be good at times and bad at others. Unfortunetly thats just how it is. He is a good guy and very reliable and will keep true to the transaction. You just have to be paitent. By the time you reach the age of 18, this website has a process known as age verifacation where by meeting a volunteer verifier you can have your date of birth confirmed and you will be able to gain access to the buy and sell sections of this forum. Also there is another retailer in Canada, however being able to purchase from them requires that you are also ASC verified, so I wont bother with details on them.
2) Pricing. Pricing is reflective of many things about airsoft in Canada. Due to airsofts nature, the retailer requires a special license. Without getting to deep into the nitty gritty about how it works I'll sum it up for you as quick as I can. Take your basic 200 dollar gun, throw in the cost of shipping, freight, taxes, customs fees, tarrifs and of course a big wad of profit for the retailer because they dont do this for beans and thats how you get the prices in Canada.

Thank you for the useful info TokyoSeven
When buying from 007 airsoft though, all the extra costs are already added to the subtotal of the product, If I am not mistaken. If using PayPal, I'm going to have to pay an extra 3% to my total. 1)Should I wait until I am able to gain access to the buy and sell sections of this forum? Do they have really good deals? 2)The cheapest gun on 007 is the Academy L85 A1 for 400 bucks...not sure if it is worth it...looks like a really good gun and looks pretty cool too 3)Can a Kraken compete with other airsoft models in a airsoft event? Thank you all again... |
