I recommend a soft rubber, the only reason why i'm running the hard rubbers in the P90 is because I had a couple hard rubbers lying around and was doing testing. The p90 shoots better with SCS and prommy soft. I get better results with the SCS than without running the hard rubber. and the hard rubber seems to perform 'good enough' for me to not bother to buy extra soft rubbers for the 2 barrel setups I have.

Hope you're not kidding me because I will try it because even with the soft rubber the gun is perfoming like shit. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the metal hop up or maybe a crappy nozzle or something...

No, he is not kidding. It's really work. I can quote for that. That's the method that I usually do after game when coming to clean my gun to store back in closet.

Sometimes there is some oil inside the bucking, and that reduces the friction... therefore reducing the effect of the hop

Of course... I think my problem lies somewhere else, the bb's seem to go either dead center, left or right. I can't predict the shot at all... It's not a problem with the rubber not gripping the bb properly (at least I don't think so)

How well does your SCS fit inside the the hop up?
Is there a lot of left and right play, or is the SCS pretty snug? |

What's the final word on removing the bump of rubber inside the hopup rubber when using a spacer like this?
Must do?...doesn't matter? I'd guess that if it's contoured to fit a BB so precisely that it'd be better to remove the bump. From the guys that have 'em...what did you do? Thanks, Tys |

the SCS fits in nice and snug. I've just read over @ Arnies that the elongated SR mechbox pushes out way more air than needed for a 509mm barrel so I'm wondering if that might be my problem.

Wash your hop up rubber, believe in my words. It's not a problem with the overflow of air, that can not cause large deviations like you mention. Don't judge a book by its cover. btw, the proper steps are: -Take out the hop up rubber -wash it in warm water with dish detergent INSIDE AND OUT. -clean your barrel inside AND out(Where the hop up rubber goes on) while you wait for the rubber to air-dry. -Check if there is no more water inside the the hop up rubber -Install -Enjoy your 5x accuracy and consistency. Now I don't know how good this SCS thing is, I have a couple but I don't have a gun to try it on at the moment. I was getting pin - point result with regular hop up nubbin. Also, you worry quite a lot about shredding you're rubber don't you? I've never seen a case of this happening, not a single time. You can just forget about this "hop up rubber shredding itself " theory haha PS: When you install you're hop up rubber, don't lube any parts other than the outer surface of the rubber. If you get lube inside the rubber, a re-do of the washing is necessary. |
