Your problems, in no exact order: it is ILLEGAL for you to own an airsoft gun until you are 18+. No loophole on that one. You CANT play just anywhere you want; there are laws and bylaws to follow. Where you CAN play depends on the field owner; you must ask them first. You should know by now that waiting IS the right thing to do. It is a matter of maturity, and most of all it all about Laws. Those laws bite. Right now they would bite your parents instead of you. Not sure you'd want that to happen. If the laws get ignored, they could bite the rest of us in stronger restrictions than we now face. Last edited by Greylocks; October 19th, 2007 at 15:41.. |

Either way, it's safer to wait til you're 18 because then you are completely responsible for yourself and your actions. |

Possession (or purchase) of a prohibited device, or replica; must be over 18 or under the direct supervision of the owner.
If you wind up owning it, through a retailer or otherwise, it's all the same. |

Like I said, technicalities. AS both is and isn't a replica at the same time, but that's not the point of this thread.

Exactly, I was answering his specific question. The instant the Courts made rulings (last summer) that airsoft were replicas (seizures in Ontario) it set a precedent.
Who can own a Replica is clear. If that ruling gets applied intelligently is a different matter. |

Sorry if it seemed like I was coming down on you. But as many people have said, there have been lots of minors asking the same questions as you. If you conduct yourself like an adult, for example, using proper grammar and spelling, people will be more likely to treat you like one. Take that as you will I suppose. A lot of people have been telling you to wait until you are 18. Sorry if it sounds harsh, but my guess is that you are going to continue airsofting in your backyard anyway. Right? You honestly don't have that long to wait until you are of age. Once you come to a game when you are 18, you will find this community to be quite helpful and friendly... in person anyway. |

ok guys thanks alot i will definetly do as told
I just want to say for the record that the one or two times i've played in the "backyard" (even though it wasnt really a backyard) its not like the kids you see on youtube running around and shooting eath other with springers its real airsoft just not at a field which does kinda suck. But as far as people thinking that we are shooting each other and calling the cops thats a very understandable point. And I knew the consequences which is why I will now stop. Just one last time thank a lot guys for helping me out and.. I'll cya in three years! o and just to the surebet guy no i did not do selective reading to get the answer i wanted i knew all about the laws Last edited by Newtothegame; October 19th, 2007 at 16:33.. |

One thing you CAN do: get your parents involved. Go with one of them to established games and ask questions. I can assure you that it will help.

We should start an elite unit that takes airsoft guns away from kids.
Just kick in the door, kick in the teeth, take the gun, smash their computer(because I am sick of these threads)and sell the aeg for rub and tug money.
