G&P M4/M16 Hop-up

I had typed a long post asking about this hopup with links but i was logged off and lost the whole post so ill make this much shorter.

Ive got a jg version 2 shooting 400 out of the box going into a CA M15 metal body with a systema 509mm tightbore.
I need a hopup and see this G&P one on airsoftparts. It has no info on the type of rubber it is and i have been looking around other places and havent found much on it. The one post I saw on here was talking about it going into a tm or jg body (I think). https://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=85065

Anyone have any idea if it will work? Or will I have to replace the rubber as the gun will probably shoot over 400 with the tightbore.
Any other options would be considered but I would prefer to buy in Canada to make things quick and easy. ( have ordered from states but at times have a hassle with shipping so just want to avoid this)
Thanks
...still long post lol

The G&P hopup unit at Airsoftparts is the hopup unit body, gears and pins. It does not (don't think so) come with a hopup rubber (and the little hopup rubber nub)...those are sold separately.

If you need a hopup unit...the G&P are fine, the KA Enhanced ones are good too (at least they've really worked well for me). Some guys from out west might chime in and go on about how they've had horrible experiences with one and will never use them again.

If you need a hopup rubber...the softer ones are for less than 380-400 and the harder ones are for 400+. I'd put a guarder black in a 400+ setup.

Here is the link
http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...roducts_id=304

If I am reading it right it says it comes with a rubber.
Ya I know about the soft and hard rules for rubbers...(insert joke here)
I just dont know about the rubber that comes with the G&P unit.
I have the feeling it is a soft rubber so will need to buy a different one but was hoping to find out before doing the order.
I have heard the guarder is a good rubber and airsoftparts has them in stock.

The one that comes with it is a soft one. It's not that great, not much friction.

I reccomend you buying Prometheus NEO strike camber along(You need to use original gears from the hop up unit you have right now) with Prometheus hop up rubber(or systema).

One of my client had one installed and each shot went almost the EXACT same path the last shot. It was quite amazing, range was like 180ish feet too!

yes it's the same thing

but don't use the Hard bucking, it's only for Bolt Action sniper rifles(They jam up AEGs), Prom Soft is the best way to go, even if you are shooting 400+FPS.

Would the Prometheus soft rubber work well with the G&P hopup? Would cut the cost in half!

yup it would work fairly well

always remember to wash ur hop up rubber with kitchen detergent and water. Then air dry it. This gives you better accuracy and consistency.

Good luck!

I may have heard of cleaning the hopup like that at some point but have long forgotten it by now so thanks for the reminder!
