Interest in GHK AK74SU Drop In Kits.
Hey all,
I was wondering if anybody here was interested in converting their Kalash or VFC AK74s into gas blowback rifles. Please refer to this link on how its done: http://www.intrudershop.com.tw/redal...%20body01.html **UPDATE** Here's a copy of a PM I sent to a friend in regards to converting his VFC AK74SU into a GHK AK74SU. Please note that it'll be pricey but in the end you'll have a whole lotta custom hand made STEEL parts in your gun that'll make it last forever and ever :P Quote:

You can purchase the rest of the parts to make your AEG AK into a GBB directly from RA-TECH, they have a price list up, it's pretty cheap. |

Again, I'm currently running a couple of RA-Tech orders. First one goes out this coming weekend. Heavy discounts right now, cheaper than you will find anywhere online.
Contact me asap. |

just a quick heads up re the GHK parts you listed, some of those arent required
Front assembly G74U-01 40 USD front end of a dboys AKSU Safety Lever G74-11 13.5 USD already on the dboys or VFC Gas route Connector set G74M-05 5 USD just a magazine top seal Valve G74M-04 13.5 USD just a magazine valve Recoil spring front fixture G74-10 8.5 USD justin supplies one as part of the 125 dollar set Grip G74-02 13.5 USD that can be used but might be better with a real one these parts you listed are amongst the ones required Recoil spring set G74-12 27 USD Recoil spring rear fixture G74-01 20 USD Receiver pin set G74-09 10 USD while these parts would need to be added along with Justins steel kits to complete the build: complete GHK CO2 or green gas mags complete NPAS (or standard) RA Tech bolt, personally Id take the NPAS one over the standard RA Tech one, not had chance to test mine yet but for an extra 15 bucks over their standard aluminium one its worth the gamble its adjustability will be of some practical use RA Tech hop up unit body G74-08 hop up set (the RA tech hop unit is just the body only so it needs the adjuster and actuating lever from the GHK one) stainless steel 4mm e-clips (the GHK ones are a bit on the thin side not sure if DG supplies fresh ones with his replacement parts) the other things you'ld need are the extension spring for the valve knocker and the torsion springs for the hammer, trigger, and hammer interupter (going by current parts lists these are not listed as seperate parts from GHK and only look to be geting supplied along with their respective hammer, trigger and hammer-interupt assemblies) to be honest though, although theres around 100 dollars saving to be had from just buying the specific GHK parts required rather than their full CO2 or Green gas kit with a mag included, Im not sure if its worth taking that approach in the long run. Buying the full kit you'll have easier access to the necessary trigger and hammer springs etc versus trying to find equivalents at a spring suppliers or getting them made AND theres much more of a chance of GHK continuing the kit (and the mags which no one else is making) Not something they're likely to have as much interest in doing if they find folks are only ordering individual spare parts and leaving them with boxes of bolt carriers, hammers and triggers etc sat on the shelf. for folks on a budget I'd reckon the best bang for bucks combo of parts would be Full GHK kit (gives the folks at GHK a full retail sale) I think thats 260 with a CO2 mag DG Steel bolt carrier ???? (if Justin will sell that seperately from hammer and valve knocker) DG Steel selector paddle 27 DG Steel rear trigger hook 25 RA Tech NPAS bolt 55 donor Dboys or VFC of their choice that would take care of the highest fault count GHK parts, with remainder left standard until folks hit a problem with the remaining parts on a kit by kit basis (hammers etc only seem to hit problems on rogue castings) ..depends on wether DG will start selling his bolt carrier seperate from hammer and valve-knocker though Last edited by scooterboy; March 27th, 2009 at 09:44.. |

I did up a spreadsheet with all the above posts taken into account. Here is a list of the parts needed to complete a "highest quality" AK74 GBBR;
Prices in USD, + you need a donor gun. |
