Back to the topic of clear coat, matte finish. I had an rc guy who bashes his stuff recomend shoe sealent to help hold it. How do you think that would work out? I saw his Tmax stock body he painted then 'sealed' and it looked fine, a mix of matte and high gloss so it remaines indifferent to the finish it seems. It couldn't hurt could it?

Careful guys, FDE reacts very differently to different light conditions.
The FDE parts i have from various companies more or less match (some are a bit brown, the other a bit more green), but once i turn the light on, or take a flash picture, the colors go off the scales. FDE is notorious to look more tan on photo's also, like this: While in fact it looks more like this: This can be easily fixed with a proper White Balance setting. On the other hand for parts, stick to the same company, since each have a small variation in FDE (but each will react differently to different light source). The worst you can do is buy diff FDE parts from diff companies and then take a non WB adjusted flash picture, YURK. On CGN, a couple people had great success FDE duracoating certain parts with very good matching to Magpul FDE's. |
