Problem with gun or battery

Ok so I got my hands on my first AEG after years of chairsofting.

Now I have everything, AEG, battery and charger. I have to say I only have a cheap wall charger for now but a good charger will be my next purchase.

So I got my 9.6v 1600 mah Intellect battery, I charge it on my wall charger for about an hour and a half or 2h. It gets somewhat hot so I think it's now fully charged. I plug in on my AEG, everything looks fine, but won't fire. What am I doing wrong ?

Thanks a lot

Look at the output mAh or Amperage of your wall charger. Chances are it's not that high, maybe only 500mAh (half an amp per hour). It *should* charge your battery enough to cycle the mechbox a few times, but usually wall chargers need 3 to 8 hours worth of charging (depends on the mAh rating of your battery, 500mAh would charge a 1500mAh in three hours, would take six hours to charge a 3000mAh battery........... basic battery math tip for you there). Could also be the fact there is an extra cell in there. I have a good charger, but it's only good for up to 8.4V, so when I charge a 9.6V, it only gets a partial charge, good enough for cycling and maybe a day of playing, but isn't fully charged. Guess you can really only wait for a real charger to determine if you are the problem, or the charger is.

I understand. But the fact is that the battery became hot, which I thought meant it was at least a bit charged, meaning I could fire a couple times. But I cant.

Also I can hear the clicking sounds of the motor. So I guess that is a good thing

if you hear the motor clicking then the gearbox is MAYBE jammed or the motor is stuck too far in the grip... look under the grip for a small allen screw... try unscrewing it 1-2 turns and try firing

Louder sound likey means you unseated the motor gear.

Maybe tell us if you got the gun new or used, might help us direct you better. If used, maybe the gun is the problem and sold for a reason. Also brand and type, what upgrades might help too.

well thank you for your help everyone but I have found out the problem. The selector screw was too tight and now the gun seems to be working just fine. I did fire a couple rounds (but couldn't really look after the performances since I didnt have enough space).

Anyways thanks everybody for your help, I think it is now solved.
