Think of it like sex.
The air nozzle is the mans parts, and the hopup rubber/unit is the womans. If she is really loose, air escapes around the mans parts and you can sometimes hear it queef. Like like the hopup rubber, air will seep out through there and go elsewhere if there is a cut/hole makeing it basically loose and not form fitting. Strange, but how I was told to look at it.

funny analogy but i get it! hehe, when i install the new bucking is it ok to lube on the outside? cuz the hop chamber is really tight
