Missing magazing part?
A friend here in Oshawa gave me a magazine from some Canadian Tire M4 he had. The rest of the gun went the way of the Dodo.
I got it home wanted to try using it but I think it may be missing some parts. Excuse my terminology, but I'm new to airsoft and only know real firearms and don't know if the two genres have interchangable terms. So anyway the magazine has a hole in the top for the BBs to come from. Has a hatch to pour BBs into but that's not an issue. The hole for the BBs to come out of is missing the magazine spring and follower that pushes the BBs up into the reciever. Or is it intended to not use one? When I open it up there's this crazy thumb wheel at the bottom of the mag and a mechanism that's intended to do more than just give heft to the magazine. I'll pour a couple of BBs into the funnel of the mechanism and thumbh the wheel and they'll pour out the bottom of where the magazine spring would (should?) be. So am I missing parts? Is it possible to order parts? Are there generic parts available that can work in a variety of guns (I know this isn't exactly Wilson Combat or Caspian Arms, per se)? Can I purchase similar magazines elsewhere and is this one worth fixing? Please view the attatched blurry cell phone pics. |

Nope hicaps do not have a spring to feed the BBs into
Just wind it and you will see BBs start to come closer to the feedling lip area. Keep winding till it's tight and hard to do so, insert to gun. Shoot, if BBs stop feeding wind again repeat.

Hicaps will not work with a small amount of BBs, there aren't enough for spring tension and feeding. You need to fill it up and wind at least 20-30 times while it is loaded into the gun already until the winding wheel starts to click.
Also, hi-caps, are cheap, plastic Canadian tire ones aren't worth Canadian Tire money imo
