Quick question about chrono

Hey guys,

When doing some test with the chrono, do you remove any hop-up effect to get the "real" results?

I'm asking this since I'm having a hard time getting the right spring to be field legal (400fps).. so far I tried a Systema M120, Madbull M110 and Prometheus MS110.. so far I always break the 400fps with no hop-up effect.

Will it be legit if I get lower than 400fps with a hop-up effect?

By the way, I ordered a Prometheus MS100 and I hope I'll get under 400fps...

FYI, I'm using a Madbull gen1 chrono and my airsoft gun is a G&G GR-16.

Thanks for your help and have a nice day!

I tried that, chrono then adjust and chrono again. My Sig 552 was between 360 and 364 before I backed off hop up, then it was 362-364. I put my hop on half way, 360-363 followed by quarter turn 360-364. All tests were five shots pulled in one second intervals. The variance was nothing to notice and the chrono revealed that. My airseel is very good though with scs hop nub to help you understand why I did no full hop test.

Madbull chronos read up to +/-20 fps in either direction lol... Especially the Gen 1's

See if some one else has a chrono you can test to see how accurate yours is.

I was working on an AK and just couldn't figure out why it wasn't shooting well...(it was a mess to begin with and came baggies of parts...). After I went over every screw and nut and I thought that I had it done, I chronied and it shot 290fps (this was with a M120 spring). WTF!??!?! Then I noticed that the hopup was almost all the way on...turned it all the way off and it immediately shot 420fps. Turned it on just a bit to stop the bb from rolling out and it was 390-ish.

I had a tiny AK Spetznas that shot 540fps with an M120...put in a M110 and it shot 458fps...put in a M100 and it was 410fps...crazy. It was a magic gun.

As a general rule I chrony newly assembled guns with the hopup off....or at least to on enough to stop the bb from rolling down the barrel on it's own. I do chrony at least 10 shots and do a rough average. That FPS result will be the hardest it shoots ever...and the FPS will likely be less when the hopup is set....but at least I know it's ok when it leaves the shop.

If it's shooting 401fps...it'll likely drop anyways as the spring settles in. Run 500 rounds through an see what it shoots afterwards.

The blue madbull chrony really likes a fresh battery and it's not a bad idea to clean out the sensors every so often. Obviously...you've got to be shooting straight through it. Shooting cockeyed through it will give you wild readings.

A bit off topic but....

How's the V2 Madbull chrony compared to V1. Big difference, big benefits?
