Well they were designed with cocking being a necessary part of use... so I would assume they're not THAT bad. Plus the cocking handle looks a lot more prominent than it is on the real steel, so I think ARES has taken that into consideration. Hopefully it uses APS internals, and not some new system devised by ARES.

Tavor does not exist before 1997 that's why's it's not on the list
PS90 is made in the states which before 2009 US DOD refuse to export it

btw I asked Wendy Cukier of coalition for gun control, norinco t97, iwi tavor, ps90, fs2000 are on the list to be banned. And no it doesn't have to go thru parliament. Order of council can do it easily like how norinco t97 is now restricted

Where did you find that info?

that is great news! my only concern is the location of the mag. if its located so far forward (since it wont be a true bullpup), then the inner barrel length will be VERY short. that would = less accuracy.

someone correct me if im wrong.

The restricted and prohibited list predates and was inherited by C-68. Tavor being created later has nothing to do with it not being on the list.

....You might want to check your sources. Norinco Type 97 is not on the list. The issue with it is not related to its bullpup config.

Please don't spread misinformation, and do your own homework instead of asking one of the most biased sources possible on the subject. You also obviously am not as familiar with the law as you think.

That's what it says on the Canada Ammo's page who is the source for importing T97, Canada Ammo's last shipment of T97 was seize because its apparently restricted. Don't shoot the parrot. As for the Prohibition order, there hasn't been one since 1998 if I recall correctly. so the date of manufacture does matter as if no such thing exist it wouldn't be on the ban list.

I'm well aware of that. They still merrily offer the Type 97 on their website, so they expect the issue to be one of classification and to eventually clear up in their favour. That wouldn't be the case if they were looking at the Type 97 getting on the prohibited regulation list.

The point is that if all bullpup were suppose to be prohibited, then the year would one went into production would've been meaningless. The government would've gone after all past, present and future bullpups.
