Question The Aftermath Mp5 to JG?

Hey guys, I'm new to this board but have played a bunch of airsoft games already and was wondering if I should upgrade/change my Aftermath mp5 to a JG version?

I am planning to add a new JG lower reviever, drop-in JG gearbox, and ICS replacment selector switch. Also, I might add an Element shorty silencer, and an ACM mp5 red dot sight with a mount.

Anything is an upgrade from Aftermath.

Also this should be in the Newbie Tank.

I wouldn't bother.

Save up for a higher quality AEG than JG.

The only "Upgrade" that one should do to an aftermath product is hop-up and barrel, or replacing a part that has failed.

Totally second Amos' post. Upgrading an Aftermath is sort of like putting a new high performance engine in an old Yugo.... As long as it's working fine internally, don't mess with it.

You're pretty much going to end up replacing every part in the end so might as well leave it and have it as a loaner/backup.

Probably better to spring for something higher quality. If you're in Edmonton Jeff at Capital Airsoft can help you out with all your airsoft needs and I believe there may be a swap meet/newbie day coming up too. Maybe someone in Edmonton can explain more since I've only head a little about it and don't know all of the details.

I own an Aftermath MP5 and it works, not the greatest like everyone says. Great for me cause its just a CQB gun for me. I've taken other people's advice here and upgraded the hopup so far thats all i'm going to do internally. I've done external cosmetic upgrades mainly.

Its a budget starter gun. I figure why spend so much money on a $160 gun.

For what it would cost you to make the aftermath equivalent to a better AEG, you could buy said better AEG.

First thing your gonna want to do is get Age Verified. Then you can buy a quality AEG so you dont find yourself in the same situation your in now. Perfect example of "buy cheap, buy twice" which is especially true with airsoft.
