Src m933 aeg
Good evening gentlemen.
So recently my brother, older than myself, has been attacked and raped by the airsoft bug. He is looking through random cheaply priced guns for his needs, maybe field it once a month, and not like the Aftermath company. He stumbled across this SRC m933 AEG; Now as a KWA user myself, ive told him the pros and cons of various guns, however he has his mind set on this rifle. Any words of recommendation or testimony's based on the gun listed above? Cheers! |

Word has it that its a gen 2 SRC gun which are utter shit (hence the stupidly low price tag). If he has his dick set on an SRC then he should at least consider the Gen III ones which are at least decent. I have no idea what the long term results are, but I know a few people with the Gen III and initial thoughts are more positive than negative.

Supposedly the SRC Gen 2 guns aren't that bad for the price you pay (according to some members on Arnies Airsoft). *NOTE I said for the price that you pay. The Gen 3 is obviously better because bugs and whatnot have been fixed (hopefully).
You should try to convince him but in the end it's his money and he'll be paying the price (for gundoc work) when it comes down to it. OR he could be really lucky and get a "cherry" and it'll last until he wants another gun. If you're AV'ed and he's older than you then that means that he's kind of on his own. He can make his own decisions right? So let him.

Yeah, it's definately worth the Gen3. But... as long as you don't get a lemon the M933 is a good bang for the buck. Expect to start upgrading when internals start to get worn out.

I have one.
It's okay. The motor is weaker than china clone motors, there's just about barely acceptable torque. The internals are fairly good for a $200 gun, actually VERY good for a $200 gun, except for the motor. Reinforced gearbox shell(Yup, reinforced), nylon piston and piston head, good seal on the cylinder head. Nice tight cylinder. Plastic spring guide kind of sucks though. Also, the "mound" on the hop up rubber is too small, you won't get even a single bit of hop up with maximum setting, so you need to change your hop up rubber right away. Oh right, and one last thing, it comes with an SCS design hop up integrated to the hop up unit itself. Other than that, it strictly follows the TM M4 design, in that it uses the split upper and lower receiver design. The nylon material they use for the upper receiver is so weak that one of the tab broke the moment I opened the up the receiver. Good thing there's a reinforcement bar though, it still keeps the tab in place even if it's broken, so it still works just fine. Last edited by Skladfin; March 5th, 2010 at 01:53.. |

The M933 available in Canada is NOT SRC Gen I or Gen II, or Gen III.
The different generations classifications only apply to SRC's metal guns. The M933 available in Canada is the PLASTIC line SRC gun. Which is their base line. Hence the handsome price. Despite of the low price, this is actually a very faithful recreation of the Tokyo Marui M933. It has plastic upper and lower receivers, plastic carry handle. Two pieces hop up design (lower hop up is metal though). M90 spring, nylon bushings, plastic spring guide, polycarb piston and piston head etc. Like I said, exactly like a TM stock gun). Shoots around 300fps. Ken Last edited by KenC; March 5th, 2010 at 12:44.. |
