shredder's concave spacer doesn't fit

gun is a stock G&G pm5-a4 (mp5 a4) with the clear upper receiver, not the sport line version though

so i just got my guarder clear rubber set and shredders concave spacer, and am working on installing it now.

i already took a knife to the guarder clear and sliced off the nub and the alignment line for the barrel so that i could twist the rubber around and have a clean un cut patch of rubber protruding into the barrel through the hop up hole

i also cut out a small square off my old stock hop up rubber so that i could place this piece either under or over the shredders concave spacer so that it would protrude far enough into the barrel to be effective when the hop up is turned up

i started placing everything together and lining it up when i had difficulty pressing the hop up adjustment into the barrel, so i took the rubbers off and just tried fitting the shredders concave spacer into the barrel through the little square hole, it wouldn't go through, was too tight of a fit to make it all the way through the little square and into the barrel

so i realize if i install everything the hop up wont work, any tips??
should i be modifying the shredders spacer or the barrel to make it fit in??
i was thinkin about maybe takin some sand paper to the edges of the spacer and sanding it down a bit, seeing if it would fit then

has any1 else had this problem before??? and how did you solve it???

File the hole on the barrel a little bigger. That's what I had to do to mine.

P.S. A good tip is to make the hole big enough so that you have some play from left to right. This way you can move the SCS around to center it within the barrel.

thnx, i already ended up sandin the shredders concave spacer down a bit on both ends and now it fits into the barrel

now whether to put the xtra rubber piece under or over the spacer so that it gets pushed far enough into the barrel

You shouldn't have sanded the SCS. The amount that is suppose to stick into the barrel is now less. Try using a bit of hot glue on the arm and use a knife to carve a notch and clean the edges. That should give you the height to stick up far enough. Good luck.

i didnt sand the SCS to change its depth i guess you would say, i sanded the circular edges so it wouldnt be as wide when fitting through the barrel, the depth or how far the scs would fit into the barrel is still the same and untouched. plus it was very minimal sanding, just a couple scrapes with sum very finely grated paper, mustve shaved like a mm or 2 in total

so far im working on gluin a little rubber onto the arm of the hop up, then glue the SCS onto the rubber and hope that it will stick far enuf into the barrel then

If you plan on glue the SCS to the arm, you need to triple check to make sure that it's perfectly center or your bbs are gonna fly left or right. Look down the barrel with the SCS fully engage and see if it's centered, then glue. The way I have it is, there is some movement from left to right so I can adjust it if the bbs are curving. I don't recommend gluing it but it's up to you. Good luck with that.

ya im not gluing it down, but i did glue 2 small rubber pieces on the arm first, then put the SCS onto the rubber on the divet in the arm, then gonna slide it into the hop up, but im def having trouble cant get the SCS to be straight :/
the little rubber pieces must be shifting it one way or the other

dam i thought this would be so easy to install....such a small tedious job :@

Yea it's a bitch to get straight. That's why I recommend having the open on the barrel a little big so you can shift it to get it straight. Also don't forget to remove any flashing or burs in the hop up chamber. That will affect the SCS and won't work right. It takes me quite a bit of time to get it straight and shooting the bbs straight. You should check out the SCS forum site because they tell you how to set the scs in the chamber.
