Riot Helmets

How do we feel about riot helmets be used in game? I noticed my local army surplus has a few, and I always thought they looked pretty neat. I have no idea what kind of sturdiness they're likely to have, but I imagine they're designed to withstand rocks being thrown at the face...so I imagine BBs won't do much to them. Thoughts?

All paintball fields will demand you use paintball goggles. It depends on where you play, they are your eyes man, if you think that the helmet would properly sheild your eyes then go for it. I'd just make sure that which ever field you play at is ok with them before you invest in them.

Great for Riots... stupid idea for airsoft games.. the fact that you NEVER see anyone else wearing a riot helmet for primary eye protection should give you a clue

They fog pretty bad, but if you used them in conjunction with proper eyewear might be neat for a photo op

you still have to wear proper yer protection underneath them, the shield could protect your face from BB's, save you a broken lip, but you won't be able to aim worth shit with that shield down, it would be like wearing a really bulky paintball mask

Haha, that part doesn't worry me. I can't aim for shit with my paintball mask anyway. That's why I prefer using my sidearm.

As noted, wear approved glasses under. Be aware that the lens will probably shatter after a few hits.
