KWA/KSC KP45(USP) NS2 hammer problem (light strike)
problem:
recently taken apart my lower frame for cleaning. I've put all the parts back together and the trigger mechanism seems to work. but when i insert a mag and pull the trigger, u hear a soft *pop of gas being released instead of the loud *blam description of parts is based according to this diagram: http://store.kwausa.com/images/diagr...ical_parts.jpg situation: So i took the slide off, insert the mag and pulled the trigger. Normally, the hammer would strike the mag valve and stay there causing the mag to vent. But in my case, the hammer would lightly tap the valve releasing a small pop of gas. To be more specific, upon pulling the trigger, part #139 will hammer parts #27+25 lightly tapping the valve. extra info: Strangely enough sometimes the gun feels like working, and the the hammer strikes the valve hard enough to cause the slide blowback reaction (slide locks on empty), or vents the mag when the slide is removed. Another particular thing is when i point the gun downwards, the gun releases enough gas but i would think that is due to gas being heavier (liquid) so the valve is more pressure sensitive... any thoughts or ideas? |

Hum... sounds like you either have the sear rod/spring or hammer spring misplaced.
Worst case scenario, and it might well be it, you "screwed up" while taking apart or putting back together and bent the hammer spring. For that no other solution than buying a new one. Taking apart lowers is really not something you should do just because feeling like it. I had several pistols both airsoft and RS, the only ones I dared to take apart were my M9 and a Colt Gov (very simple mech). But USP are a pain in the ass, I have a .45 Tac RS I clean the lower with a cleaning solution bath. Same was for my former non System-7 USP. |

i'll take a closer look at the impact assembly to see if the spring may have been displaced.
thanks for the ideas. atleast its given me a direction to work with. |
