CADPAT Ver #?

I see a lot of post about people selling CADPAT version (1,2 etc). Can someone explain to me the difference in them. What changes were made upon the versions?

early CADPAT was known to bleed a little so it had a more blotchy look (my helmet cover is of this type) then it was mostly to make it more fade resistant. Newer CADPAT takes longer to fade then older issue CADPAT.

Thanks, hopefully the pics will clear up any confusion I got. I know that like Gen 2 are also covered buttons or something of that nature.

Gen1 combats were like the older OD combats with exposed buttons, the next generation of CADPAT combats covered all the buttons, as well as dealt with the fading issue.

There are 2 different REAL versions of CADPAT:
1st Line CADPAT - This is the real deal with IR/FR treatments and is only to be used manufacturing for the Canadian Military
2nd Line CaDPAT - This is the real deal but with minor flaws and no Ir/FR treatments. This is used by Canadian government authorized manufacturers to manufacture gear out of.
Both 1st and 2nd Line materials are accounted for down to the square centimeter, so good luck getting any legally without authorization.
Anything else is a copy, ranging from really good to really crappy. :P

Now as far as Generations go, there are I believe 3 issue versions of the bdu's (I'm sure a current CF member can confirm) with trials currently underway for an updated version.

Material types are related to what it's being used for. Different grades of nylon are used for different applications throughout both uniform and load bearing equipment. Camouflage patterns will take on different sheens based on which material type it's dyed into.

I don't need to worry about finding any. I have a real set. Just wanted to know the difference.

There are two type of Combats what use used with the CADPAT Batter, Buttons Covered (current issue), and Buttons Uncovered (First Issue). There is rumours that they are going to add shoulder pockets, but they are just rumours.

The Different versions of CADPAT are based on improvements to IR and Fade Resistance so that the Uniform will last longer before turning into Mesh.

Thanks Infidel!
And the rumors are somewhat true.. I've been asked to provide 2 versions of 2 different uniform tops. 1 version of each with shoulder pockets, 1 version of each without....... We'll see which ones they decide on in about 8 years.. LOL
